G4S is responsible to provide aviation security at Kuwait International Airport. The environment varies from high intensity population areas such as the main checkpoints, gates, and the passenger terminal to more open environments such as airside ramp areas and airport perimeter
Role Responsibility:
Including but not limited to the following key tasks, as directed by and/or in consultation with the G4S Risk Consulting KWI PMT/ MOI Security Manager :
Ensure that MOT/ICAA/ICAO and G4S Security Standards are met and delivered to the highest Customer Service Standards achievable.
Manage and enforce all G4S Operational SOP’s and ensure compliance at all times, providing OJT on their implementation as required.
Manage the searching of passengers, crew and airport personnel to recognised international standards as described in Annex 17 and supporting documentation ICAO 8973. This will be achieved through WTMD, physical and X-Ray screening within the terminal areas. Ensure that all staff have an understanding of their responsibilities in the event that a restricted or prohibited item is identified.
Manage access control into restricted zones and maintain the landside/airside barrier.
Deliver G4S Standards of Excellence when dealing with Diplomatic passengers and develop positive working relationships with Government Agencies, MOI staff and KWI stakeholders.
Provide timely and accurate information on daily operations to the G4S RC Principle consultant /PMT, G4S Kuwait MSS and MOI Security Manager.
Identify, develop and implement improvements which will further enhance the security product delivered by G4S.
Respond and assist with contingency planning.
Allocate resources when meeting the demand of increased passenger traffic or manage emergency responses in conjunction with the G4S RC Principle Consultant/PMT MOI Security Manager and relevant airport stakeholders and operators.
Mentor and coach all Avsec staff to ensure weekly and monthly mandatory checks and records are completed.
Liaise with Control Authorities to ensure all confiscations are correctly accounted for and receipted as appropriate.
Initiate the appropriate documentation for confiscations and ensure the correct procedure is carried out for the safe keeping of those articles until they are disposed of.
Report all security and client related incidents and occurrences to the MOI Operations Centre and line management and be responsible for overseeing the incident reporting.
Specific Tasks:
Ensure that ICAO/KWI/G4S Security and Safety Standards are met and delivered to the highest achievable Customer Service Standards.
Be responsible for supervising the screening of passengers, crew and airport personnel to a recognised international standard in accordance with Annex 17 and supporting ICAO Documentation 8973, by means of WTMD, HHMD and physical search within the terminal search areas.
Supervise the screening process of all passengers, crew and airport personnel baggage and equipment by X-Ray/CTX and/or ETD.
Responsible for ensuring access control is maintained for those persons entering restricted zones.
The Ideal Candidate:
Educational Requirements / Qualifications:
Level 1 Aviation security course
Level 2 Aviation Security Supervisor
Level 3 Management (UK Dft)
ICAO AVSEC Professional Manager
ICAO Certified Instructor (Desirable)
University Degree level education or equivalent.
An understanding of Arabic language (Desired)
Be committed to continual improvement process as a means of further enhancing the security product delivered by G4S.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years previous aviation experience in aviation, military, police (or equivalent)
Be conversant with all AVSEC ICAO, EU and International best practice standards
Proven knowledge and experience of providing aviation security at international airports
Experience of working in culturally diverse environments is desirable.
