Summary/General Description of Job:
Responsible for the daily supervision of field operations personnel, including maintenance crews, construction crews, emergency responders, service technicians, and contractor personnel in a cost-effective and productive manner.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Coordinate, monitor, and optimize the daily work activity of personnel to complete appropriate tasks as scheduled.
Motivate, coach, develop, and discipline employees within area of responsibility.
Ensure workplace safety and maintain safe working conditions through field inspection of work sites and equipment.
Manage the preventive maintenance work flow to ensure they are performed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Management of the tool room to ensure it is well organized and stocked.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Familiarity with the performance appraisal process, rewarding and disciplining employees,
Timely respond to customer requirements and effectively resolve any complaints.
Supervise subordinates, complete employee evaluations and plan and arrange for development and training.
Preparation of all paperwork associated with schedule changes; badge and license renewal.
Resolve employee problems and discipline issues.
Consult daily with operations area personnel to discuss and define operational issues.
Supervise balloon / calibration sphere launches and support the required monthly reports on time.
Aid in determining priorities for the area with regard to resources.
Assist with developing goals and objectives for the area and monitor progress.
May be required to assume the responsibilities of the Operations Manager during his absence.
Assist with initiatives associated with safety, environmental. Monitor and track activities in these areas and insure appropriate resources are available.
Accountable For:
Quarterly Safety Stand Down information.
Maintaining the Temperature and Humidity Data Logger on a monthly basis.
Accurately maintaining MSDS book for hazardous material.
Timely ordering supplies, material, parts, and equipment that may be required for assigned projects.
Ensuring all personnel wearing the appropriate PPE for the assigned tasks.
Maintaining personnel training records to ensure all training is scheduled and completed timely.
Maintaining security and safety bulletin boards.
Qualifications
Mandatory
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years’ experience working in a construction environment.
Able to possess appropriate licenses to drive a forklift and/or operate overhead cranes.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to obtain a U.S. DOD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to deployment.
Ability to pass a Federal Background Investigation to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport before hire.
Ability to pass a pre-hire physical/medical clearance and a post offer drug screen.
Preferred
Strong Background in Mechanical, Structural and Construction fields.
Three (3) years in a Shop Lead or Supervisor position.
This is an unaccompanied position. Housing provided for employee only. Contract through 02/28/2018.
