Role Specific Information
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Security Risk Assessments (SRA) according to minimum operational requirements (MOSS)
Plan and Develop capacity of security personnel of the Erbil and Dohuk area office
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for security management
Minimize security risks to the operations of NRC Support the Area Manager in assessment/analysis of politico-social-economical-security information
Support for setting up of NRC satellite offices in Nineva corridor and Mosul city
Provide security training to programme staff and drivers
Prepare and submit periodical reports to Area Manager and the Country Security Adviser
Our Ideal Candidate:
University graduate in relevant field, with a minimum of 4 years of experience from working as a Security Adviser in a humanitarian/recovery context. Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, in particular in the Middle East. Expertise in conducting Security Risk Assessment and advising on security protocols. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Arabic is an advantage.
We are particularly looking for a humanitarian professional with strong security background particularly working with UN or INGOs, who can contribute to development of security strategies and coordinate and manage the Area Offices security team.
