Field Security Technician

Position Summary: The Field Security Technician (FST) will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all technical and security communications equipment.

Essential Functions:
Maintain (preventive and corrective maintenance) and repair all technical and communications security equipment
Install, maintain, and repair communications equipment, Close Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV), alarm systems, imminent danger notification systems, intrusion systems, and access control systems
Establish and implement maintenance plans and inventory/accountability systems
Assist with radio communication encryption (key loading communications equipment)
Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of Blue Force Tracker
Enforce communications SOPs and maintenance and accountability plans


 Non-Essential Functions:
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the customer/client

Job Requirements
Crucial Requirements and Abilities:

One (1) year of overseas experience performing as a technical/communication security equipment technician
Five (5) years experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of communications/electronics security equipment
Either military or civilian certified electronics technician
English language proficiency (minimum Level III)

Proven technical skills and competency in communications and information technology fields
Ability to establish, maintain and enforce operational standards
Highly effective communications skills including strong written and oral presentation skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability and willingness to work in hostile and conflict environment
Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility
Ability to maintain effective communications with individuals and agencies from diverse cultures and backgrounds including U.S. Government, host nation government and law enforcement
Maintain effective professional relationships with employees and outside individuals and agencies
Ability to understand and successfully handle various high-pressure and dynamic operational situations
Ability to liaise with multiple agencies and organizations simultaneously, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and competence



Upon hiring the Field Security Technician will be required to:

Attend the non-PSS training course
Obtain and maintain weapons qualification
Completed certificate program for Motorola radios



Physical Demands: The physical demands listed below, though not fully inclusive, must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time. The employee is frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
