Key activities in your role will include
Review existing security procedures and practices at mission and/or field level;
In collaboration with mission and/or field teams, develop a gap analysis between existing practices and standards specified in Action Against Hunger International Security Framework;
In collaboration with Country Director, develop a work plan to improve security management addressing issues and gaps identified;
In collaboration with Country Director, lead the development of mission security risk analysis;
Support, guide and mentor Country Directors, Field Coordinators and other mission staff with security management responsibilities in the preparation and updating of country-level security documents and procedures;
Support the Country Coordination team in managing the response to all security incidents;
Conduct security training for mission and field teams;
Assess risks and develop appropriate security management plans for new deployments of Action Against Hunger personnel or selection of new locations or premises;
Lead the analysis at mission level of all security incidents experienced by Action Against Hunger and provide recommendations for mitigation and contingency measures for similar incidents;
Join and/or lead any security-related discussion pertinent to strategic or tactical decisions at mission level;
Mentor/Advise (national) Country Security Officers and/or Country Directors and other key staff with responsibilities for staff security.
Provide exceptional security support to missions during scale up or scale down of activities and emergencies.
Between field assignments, provide remote support to on-going mission security management.

Do you meet the profile required criteria ?


You’re a seasoned humanitarian aid worker
You have a Bachelor’s degree in logistics, security management, humanitarian action, international relations or a related field.
You have at least one year field experience working with a humanitarian organization in an insecure context.

You’re a very capable communicator
You have experience designing and delivering training and coaching for international and national staff.
You are comfortable explaining complex policies and procedures simply, in non-technical terms.
You are able to succinctly summarize and analyze current field activities.

You have experience working with
Major institutional and UN donors and donor procedures (ECHO/EC, OFDA/USAID, CIDA, SDC, etc.).
Budget preparation and the proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports.
