Job Description 
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the components of the overall Security program for a large geographic area or an area of high personnel concentration. The position will take the lead on implementing programs and initiatives to help mitigate identified risks in the LATAM region. Through developed or to be developed policies, procedures, and processes, this position will coordinate and implement site security, operations and activities to ensure the protection of people, information and products in the region of responsibility. The position will be responsible for all security operations for G&A and commercial locations in the countries where we have direct business in LATAM; will cover all employee population operation in the field; will support market entry activities from a risk and security perspective into new markets in the region where direct business is considered; as well provide security support and guidelines for BIIB distributor business in LATAM, primarily as it relates to product and supply chain security. The position will require the ability to operate across different cultures and languages, with the selected candidate ideally being fully trilingual: English, Spanish, Portuguese. The position will require good understanding of PO&T, commercial and R&D operations across the region; ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders; serve and influence multiple customers. This role will require to have capabilities across all security disciplines: systems, operations, product and supply chain security and crisis planning and business continuity. The selected individual will ensure maximum utilization of and coordination with the corporate based security centers of excellence.

1. Leads the overall security program within a large geographic region, ensuring consistency with corporate policies, procedures and process to ensure the protection of people, information and products within that region.
2. Directs the day-to-day management of site security operations for major sites in the assigned region either directly or through subordinates (FTE or Contractor) to ensure timely delivery of required services and appropriate response to incidents. Oversees security related agreements and capital improvement projects within region or geographical area.
3. Identifies, evaluates and mitigates company, business unit, regional and site security risks. Conducts risk assessments and reviews to identify security risks in the organization, then evaluates mitigation options to reduce or eliminate the risks and finally implements the appropriate strategies to reduce such risks.
4. Develops, implements and manages new programs and initiatives designed to improve security for the corporation across the region. Based on self-identified or otherwise identified opportunities, evaluates the viability and resources required to implement an effective new program or initiative.
5. Meets with Executive and Senior management in the region on a regular basis to communicate Security initiatives as well as identify and address Security concerns.
6. Maintains close relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence and private sector counterparts to include in-country security and international security agencies.

Qualifications 
10+ years security management experience within a global organization with international experience, 15 years of increasing Security-related responsibility within the public or private sector, Professional Board Certification (CPP, CISSP, PSP, PCI or alike) preferred.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminal Justice, Security Management or related field or the international equivalent. A graduate degree or international equivalent in Business, a plus.
