Senior Intelligence Analyst

Job Summary

The Intelligence Analyst Senior researches, mines analyzes, interprets, evaluates, and integrates moderately complex intelligence data pertaining to order of battle, force structure, strategic and conventional military capabilities, and key military leadership. May serve as an All-Source Analyst or specialize in a more technical field of intelligence such as Imagery intelligence (IMINT), Signals intelligence (SIGINT), Human intelligence (HUMINT), Measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT), Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), or Counter-Intelligence (CI).

Principal Accountabilities
Analyze and interpret moderately complex intelligence data by monitoring information feeds, threat activity, and mining data sources; Identify potential threats, targets of interest, and potential malicious activity in order to develop specialized intelligence products, threat analyses, and tailed reports
Assess capabilities of doctrine and strategy production, joint forces operations, force structure, manpower, joint exercises, readiness training and intentions; Provide input to policymakers on key foreign military capabilities trends
Develop approaches to analysis and validate analytical conclusions
Maintain and update extensive intelligence databases, systems, and mechanisms for sharing relevant intelligence information to support ongoing and projected projects
Advises team(s) on special projects or studies of considerable scope and depth critical to the resolution of military capabilities issues and problems
Interpret complex legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance to prepare recommendations and brief senior leadership; Represent the Agency’s position concerning military capabilities to senior policymakers
Analyze, review, and assist in the development of complex policy on key intelligence operational issues
Conduct research and interpret legislation, directives, and doctrines affecting the Intelligence Community
Review information/data to assess potential impact on the Agency, and help plan, organize, coordinate, and communicate Agency responses to higher authorities
Provide broad policy advice to senior management through the process of synthesis, analysis, and interrelating of meaningful data; ensure that intelligence policy operations and programs are streamlined, efficient, and in compliance with regulatory requirements by providing guidance, oversight and evaluation

Knowledge & Skills
Ability to review moderately complex data, identify potential gaps and vulnerabilities, and correlate seemingly unrelated information to determine links and patterns
Working knowledge of and skill in applying advanced intelligence concepts, principles, practices, laws, regulations, methods and techniques
Substantive knowledge of the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense missions and functions
Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, with an ability to interact with military leadership and public officials
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, use logic and reasoning to evaluate figures, and draw valid conclusions
Working knowledge of policy development and ability to influence future actions in terms of developing short and long-range policy
Ability to write concise, logical, grammatically correct analytical reports

Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 6 years of intelligence analysis experience, or equivalent specialized training and intelligence/academic experience
Must have a final (not interim) DoD SECRET Level Security Clearance before deployment and maintain that clearance.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must pass all medical and fitness requirements directed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) in order to deploy.
Must be able to operate in harsh and austere conditions of Afghanistan

Travel
Must be capable of daily travel in and around Kabul as well as to locations throughout Afghanistan.
