Description
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Armament Supervisor, performs a full range of work involved in troubleshooting, repair, service and maintenance of armament systems such as small arms and towed artillery. Performs physical security, key and lock control, safety and environmental control duties.


Major Activities:
1. Determines the nature and extent of repairs required; disassembles and examines parts and assemblies for serviceability; replaces parts and assemblies as required.
2. Repairs, replaces, and/or modifies barrel assemblies, upper receivers, lower receiver, gas tubes, gas rings, feed trays, feed pawls, buffer, and their related components.
3. Determines serviceability of parts; exercises initiative to maintain productive progress and accepts responsibility for the results.
4. Safely uses common hand-tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance.
5.. Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of tow artillery or small arms weapons, with little or no supervision, using a variety of diagnostic techniques and practices.
6. Assists other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of small arms and tow artillery maintenance and related TMDE.
7. Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Material & Equipment Directly Used: 
Electronic Computers, Small Arms, Artillery or General Mechanic tool boxes, TM’s, precision tools, generators, power tools, overhead lifts, military/commercial vehicles.
Working Environment:
Work is generally conducted in a maintenance shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in outdoor areas with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions/ambient temperatures. Work will require lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.

Physical Activities:
Work may require lifting up to 70lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.

Qualifications  
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High school graduate or equivalent. Technical Certification in Military Armament Systems Maintenance (Small Arms, Artillery, systems etc.) or Civilian Equivalent. A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Driver’s License. HAZMAT Handling/Transportation Training. DD214 required to validate prior military training
Experience: 2 years of related work experience and responsibilities. Prior military experience is a plus.

7. Must be able to work with people of diverse background.
8. Must be knowledgeable of/possesses the ability to identify the military rank structure.
9. Possesses ability to perform root cause analysis and prepare Corrective Actions Plans
10. Must be able to function effectively with little to no guidance.
11. Possesses excellent computer skills (MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel).
12. Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
13. Ability to identify all variants of military arms and associated equipment
14. Must be knowledgeable of Physical Security Requirements for AA&E IAW ARs 190-11 and 190-13
15. Must be knowledgeable of Key and Lock Control procedures IAW AR 190-51
16. Must be knowledgeable of the supply control requirements of AA&E IAW AR 710-2 and DA Pam 710-2-1
17. Must possess a High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
18. Must possess excellent knowledge of HAZMAT control measures for Tritium, DU and other environmental hazards
19. Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret reports, wiring diagrams/schematics drawings, blueprints and documents.
20. Knowledge of electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.
21. Ability to operate electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment.
22. Knowledge of operation, testing and maintenance of specific types of weapons systems.
