Description
Operates medium-size truck (such as stake trucks but excluding pickup trucks) to transport materials; merchandise; equipment; and personnel within an industrial area.
Loads and unloads trucks by hand or by use of mechanical devices such as hoists; pumps; lifts or winches.
Makes minor mechanical adjustments.
Requires a valid truck operator's permit. Exclude long-haul operators; helpers; driver-salespeople; operators receiving commissions; zone rates; incentive pay; or hazardous premium rates; and operators generally required to perform off-the-road driving.
Qualifications
Experience:
Full knowledge of the job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job
General supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.
Errors may be detected and corrected but may cause moderate loss of time or customer/user dissatisfaction.
Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally with contacts outside own organization. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.
Education:
High school and 2 years of related experience.
AA Degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience.
Candidates must be able to obtain/maintain a secret clearance which requires US Citizenship and must be able to pass additional background checks as required.
