Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for both physical and intelligence research matters. Typical work assignments will include:
Serving as the district expert and principal point-of-contact for all physical security matters in conducting and approving physical security site surveys, threat analyses, and vulnerability assessments;
Planning and overseeing the installation and maintenance of all physical security systems, equipment, and building modifications necessary to ensure adequate security is maintained;
Conducting analysis on specific criminal groups, such as gangs and other crime issues;
Identifying physical security vulnerabilities and recommending and implementing measures and practices to eliminate real and potential shortfalls or deficiencies;
Developing, implementing, and administering contingency and emergency preparedness planning efforts to enable the district of continue essential operations;
Participating in intelligence planning as it relates to threats.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications Required:
To qualify for this GS-12 position, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band in other pay systems. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but it must demonstrate that the experience is comparable to GS-11 level work.

Specialized Experience:
performing work involved with both physical security and intelligence matters;
providing a wide variety of security services to promote the effective protection of personnel, property,
facilities, sensitive and classifed information, communications and computer equipment and other resources against criminal, terrorist and hostile activities;
working closely with intelligence research specialists and criminal investigators in applying established intelligence practices to specific problems/areas or concern related to specific gang unit, violent crime and narcotics trafficking, etc..;
evaluating and analyzing intelligence reports related to specific criminal groups such as gangs and other criminal matters; and
using commercial and law enforcement databases to collect intelligence information.
