Job Description
American Systems  is seeking a retired or former U.S. Army Special Operations Forces Officer (18A Special Forces or 11A with Ranger Tab), Major or Lieutenant Colonel, to serve as Team Chief of a Security Assistance Team (SAT) that will provide tactical training to SOF personnel at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) near Amman, Jordan.  This
SAT is being provided as part of a Security Assistance Training Program that directly supports U.S. Foreign Policy and the execution of Department of Defense Security Cooperation Plans and Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • As a SOF Team Chief, the candidate will lead a training team that will deploy to Amman, Jordan to provide instruction and training to SOF personnel.
  • The candidate will manage a SAT that will provide training to SOF Operators to improve their capacity to deter, prevent, disrupt, capture, and prosecute known terrorists and terrorist organizations.

For over twelve years, AMERICAN SYSTEMS has supported the delivery of training services to foreign military personnel in support of U.S. foreign assistance programs.  We offer a very competitive compensation and benefit package and there are no upfront out of pocket expenses for persons hired.  All travel and transportation arrangements will be made and paid for by AMERICAN SYSTEMS. Living expenses are paid by AMERICAN SYSTEMS with all employees living in the vicinity of Amman, Jordan.  Work is performed five days per week at KASOTC and surrounding area.  The individuals hired will be full-time salaried employees of AMERICAN SYSTEMS.
 
Job Requirements
  • Must have recent (within 5 years) theater experience training partner nation Special Operations Forces
  • Retired/former U.S. Army Special Forces Officer (18A) or U.S. Army Infantry (Ranger) Officer (11A) that held of the rank of Major or Lieutenant Colonel Company Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, Battalion Operations Officer or Battalion Command experience required
  • Must have experience in managing programs, training, and oversight for projects of a similar size and scope
  • Must pass an Army APFT (age appropriate) Must pass a comprehensive background check
  • Must provide DD 214 to document experience and qualifications Must present a professional military appearance and bearing
  • Must have successfully completed a medical physical exam within the last 12-months with no chronic conditions that would prevent performance of duties
  • Must present proof of recent (120 days) negative HIV test Must possess a current U.S. Tourist Passport. (Passport must not expire within 24-months of being hired.)
  • Must be drug-free with ability to successfully pass drug screening test
  • Must possess the ability to effectively conduct cross-cultural communications and deliver training/instruction with the use of an interpreter
  • Must possess a BS/BA degree or the equivalent military and or technical training
  • Prior experience conducting cross-cultural communications and delivering training/instruction with the use of an interpreter
  • Prior experience developing military instructional material
  • Prior experience working with SOF in the Middle East is highly desired
  • Basic knowledge of Iraqi Arabic is desired
