Manage Security system with in terminal premises and handle traffic. Alert to emergencies, threats and other disturbances. Compliance of the Port Facility Security Plan.


Key Responsibilities
Manage the Security of Terminal and provided following to Security staff :-

- Advise the shift on current issues affecting security of terminal.
- Conduct smooth Security operation and ensure procedures framed, executed and followed.
- Handle Security Staff in shift by conducting regular visits around Terminal.
- Provides direction and instruction to outsourced security staff, providing regular feedback and regular appraisal.
 – Counsel outsourced security staff, up to and including discipline and duties including termination.
 – Follow company policies and procedures in the application of managing outsourced security staff.
Interact with appropriate local authorities viz. police, CISF, IB, CBI and other government agencies on Emergency Response, Disaster Management, Security and Traffic related issues.
Frame Security Policies & Manuals for the terminal Security and related SOPs for smooth and secured operations in consultation with Head- HSSE.
Monitor movement of goods and containers and ensure proactive measures to prevent any theft or sabotage inside terminal.
Frame suitable system for smooth egress and entry of materials inside terminal other than containers.
Evaluate potential risks to terminal or personnel and advice proactive Security measures to Head- HSSE and others.
Provide regular & timely intelligence input to Head- HSSE and Terminal Mgt on IR and other issues for effective decision making.
Assist HSSE Head in investigations accidents or any other safety related incidents.
Investigate reports of theft, sabotage, fatality etc and liaise with police regarding the same
Conduct regular mock drills as per ISPS standards and rectify observations if any immediately.
Liaise regularly with Port PFSO for Port Security related issues and be available during Mock Drills conducted by PFSO and conduct security related Mock drills regularly as per procedure.
Maintain high standard of discipline among all private Security Guards and Terminal Security Staff.
To frame & update Terminal Security Plan and Contingency Plan.
Handle all ID & port pass issues of APMT s& contracted staff and ensure holding of Police and Antecedent Verification for all permanent staff & contractors.
Handle port pass for visitors including foreigners as per guidelines issued by CISF & JNPT from time to time & pave way for smooth handling of port pass by contractors with CISF.
Enable CISF provide regular portpass to terminal & staff with Access Cards as per recommendations of HODs.
Monitor activities of all categories of persons through Access Cards and allow access as per job requirements only to authorise personnel.
Hold regular meetings with HODs & contractors or their reps on security issues.
Visit terminal for surprise rounds & other duties even during non-office hours and holidays once in a week.
Effectively deal with any IR problems related to staff, local villagers and contractor personnel.
Ensure full co-operation with Safety, HSSE Training & Environment team in ensuring 100% safety inside terminal through Security Supervisors and Contracted Security persons.
Organise Terminal tours for visitors/clients.
Handle and have an effective control on Security vehicles & use them efficiently & judiciously with in authorised limits.
Manage Terminal Traffic in an effective and efficient manner starting from Port Boundary to Terminal premises and ensure no delay or held anywhere
Ensure safe Management of railway crossings inside the port under responsibility of APM Terminals
Display high Safety awareness, consciousness and passion coupled with attitude for Environment Protection.
Hold safe custody of documents and files of the Department related to Security and take stock of all equipments and ensure their serviceability always.
Make effective use of CCTV system and ensure 100% delivery of CCTV services. Hold record of CCTV monitoring for at least a period of 1 month.


Who we are looking for
Education:

Require minimum Graduate degree with additional qualification in Management.
Should have preferably undergone 3 days of ISPS Course from DG Shipping recognised Institution..
Possession of any Certification on Crisis Mgt, First Aid, Crowd Mgt, Emergency Response Procedure, Fire Fighting etc will be an added advantage.

Experience:
Should be Ex-commissioned/Para Military Officer/JCO with a minimum of 15 years coupled with 3 years of managerial (AM & above) experience in the field of Security. Freshly released officers from Indian Armed Forces with minimum 5 years of experience or freshly discharged JCO/NCO with at least 18 years experience in defence will be considered
Experience in sea port or CFS or in similar kind of environment is an added advantage.
Strong Leadership Skills with good Team Building Capability is desired in the individual.
Should possess good communication skills and liaison capability with fluency over English, Hindi and Marathi.
Should be familiar with usage of all types of Security Equipments & conversant with Security Systems like CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting & Radio Communication etc.
Thorough working knowledge on computers and should be skilful in MS office. Possess requisite acumen to operate any system.
