The holder of this position reports to Head of Security EABL and on a dotted line to KBL Sales Directors.
EABL has major operations throughout East Africa including Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Through distribution agreements we are also present in other East African countries and are also looking at expanding into others. These venture markets include South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda and Eastern DRC.
The region offers a number of security challenges including ensuring the safety of staff in high risk locations, advising business travelers, protecting our facilities and goods from organized criminals, understanding the terrorist threat, counterfeit, contingency planning and undertaking internal investigations.
We also have a number of expatriates based in the three countries. Family security and residential security to the expatriates is also a function of security.

Purpose of the role:
Protecting company employees, assets, brands, reputation and business operations/activities from actual or potential security threats.
Preparing high quality reports including intelligence briefing, threats assessments and investigative reports;
Providing strong leadership to the security function and maintaining close links with KBL Sales Leadership Team.
Communicating security risks to the KBL Sales team and Leadership team and providing appropriate advice;
Establishing training and security awareness for employees – third party providers - and providing professional security advice and consultation to Demand side of the business.
Top Accountabilities:
Conducting investigations as required by EABL Head of Security and ensure that timely, detailed and concise written and verbal reports are given on detected/reported incidents particularly involving Demand side of the business.
Ensure sales team are protected and get regular communication on security threats/risks and emergency alerts.
Driving proactive programmes to mitigate current and emerging risks and trends to keep our people, assets and brands, events safe and secure.
Building and maintaining effective contacts with relevant law enforcement, regulatory and industry bodies
Ensure that all Events/Conferences are safe by doing Risk Assessment before any Events are done.
Qualifications and Experience:
Good knowledge of the commercial security field including, experience in threat analysis, Physical, people & travel security and developing risk analysis; experience in evaluating and implementing physical asset protection and conducting site surveys and awareness of executive protection
Good knowledge of conducting and managing complex investigations, i.e. fraud allegations and civil investigations; conducting witness, victim, and suspect interviews experience
Be able to prepare documentation for corporate leadership or governmental agencies;
Prior experience is required in military, government agency, law enforcement or as a corporate security professional. Minimum requirement is Captain in military or Chief Inspector of police
Must be a university graduate and be a Kenyan citizen.
