Background
The OSCE Office in Tajikistan is looking for highly qualified, motivated and experienced candidates (Tajik citizen) for the position of Security Guard in its Field Office in Shartuz. The OSCE is committed to achieving a better balance of women and men within the Organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the Field Officer and overall supervision of the Mission Security Officer, the incumbent performs the following tasks related to ensuring the security and protection of persons and property at the OSCE Field Office in Shartuz:
Exercises strict access control into OSCE FO premises;
Keeps track of all the outgoing and incoming vehicles beyond the office working hours;
Patrols and maintains security of the office premises and grounds, including overnight guard duties, and reports any irregularities;
Familiar with procedures in case of emergency (fire, suspicious package, threatening calls, etc.) and acts accordingly;
Responds to emergencies affecting the safety in the premises and notifies supervisor and emergency services;
Reviews and updates the procedures for rapid evacuation of premises in different emergency situations;
Conducts physical security checks of offices. Checks that all office machines, air conditioners, lights, etc., are turned off after working hours;
Receives and screens for security purpose correspondence and mail, regularly reviews and reinforces procedures on screening and handling suspicious parcels/letters;
Conduct radio checks with OSCE Main Office in Dushanbe;
Liaise with the Host country police, security and safety service in case of emergencies;
Keeps the Emergency Key and Security Log, monitors security of premises with available security equipment.
Necessary Qualifications
Completion of secondary education;
Minimum two years of work experience as a security guard or in relevant field;
Knowledge of basic security methods and practices to perform the limited intervention assignments. Basic knowledge of firefighting and defensive actions;
Previous training with the military or police would be an asset. Knowledge of security and safety regulations, procedures and methods of the OSCE. Ability to communicate effectively and with tact, to use fire extinguishing equipment;
Very good knowledge of Russian. Excellent knowledge of Tajik. Working knowledge of English is preferable;
Driver's license is desirable.
Remuneration Package
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 390.50 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in 'Cigna International Health Services' medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
