Global Security Trainer

Purpose Of Position:
This position exists to enable to fulfill World Vision (WV) ministry with a greater level of security and safety. The position will design and deliver personal security training especially in medium and high risk National Offices, security management and hostile environment training in and from 5 equipped regional hubs.
Without this position, the security management competencies of WV field leaders and personal survival skills of front line staff in high risk locations will not be developed and training capacity will stagnate to only 10% of what is required annually.

Key Responsibilities:
Training:
  • WV senior managers and front line staff working in high risk environments are trained with international best practice security procedures.
Technical Support:
  • WV staff have added resources and assistance in rolling out portions of training to more staff within the various offices.
Operational Support:
  • WV security training is constantly analyzing current security risks to stay on the cutting edge of appropriate necessary training.
Knowledge Management & Quality Assurance:
  • Builds capacity development within the national offices. Assists WV staff with new methods of how to train.
Internal/External Liaison & Co-ordination:
  • Create strategic relationships internally & externally with training providers. Liaise with internal clients to determine needs.
Knowlrdge Skills & Abilities
  • Degree, post graduate qualification or recognized industry qualification in education, training and development or NGO security management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience working internationally with global humanitarian organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning concepts and principles and contemporary learning and development practice and strong instructions skills.
  • Strong composition and writing skills.
Preferred:
  • Extensive field and regional UN or INGO security management experience in complex contexts highly preferred.
  • Strong management background in cross cultural settings.
  • High level of practical experience in threat and risk assessments and subsequent analysis in the humanitarian context preferred.
