Country Management Office TAU Threat Analyst (Military Experience preferred)

Job Summary
The TAU Threat Analyst is responsible for analysing the effects of terrorist operations, with a specific focus on Baghdad. The basic roles are to produce a high standard of written and oral analytical products for both clients and in support of Aegis CMO operations and to oversee the unit’s open source collection effort. The analyst is responsible for producing commercially- focused nationwide reports in addition to having a specific reporting responsibility for Baghdad and the central region.
The analyst is responsible to the Country Manager, Deputy Country Manager and TAU Manager for all aspects of the provision of information on the effects of insurgent operations to allow Aegis and client staff to make informed decisions. The analyst is also responsible for providing support to the Aegis sales function. The individual will need to be a proactive team player content to work in a small, close-knit team.
Main Functions/Tasks
Maintenance and development of tactical information SOPs
Maintenance and development of IRs and production schedule
Oversight of the TAU open source tactical information collection effort, exploiting both English and Arabic printed media
Comprehensive, accurate and timely tactical threat assessment in support of safe passage of clients and teams  Production, editing and development of client and internal reporting in accordance with SOPs, client requirements and CMO direction
Production of pre-emptive threat assessments
Maintenance and management of comprehensive security incident recording
Oversight of the development and maintenance of a common operating picture of the threat environment in relation to client operations
Threat analysis for future operational planning
Maintain and populate ISF orbats
Liaison with in-country Aegis projects
Maintain commonality of process with in-country Aegis projects, while still meeting client requirements.
Liaison with other PSCs and any other relevant agencies and organisations

Secondary Functions/Tasks
The analyst will also be required to perform any other tasks and duties not mentioned above as directed by any member of the Aegis management

Specific Skills Needed to Fulfil Role
Skills Essential 
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Arabic language skills to a standard sufficient to comprehensively translate printed media
Solid understanding of the tactical information appreciation process
Solid understanding of risk analysis processes, systems and doctrine and procedures
The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining the integrity and quality of work
The ability to operate in a hostile environment
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent IT skills, to include at the very least the Microsoft Office suite and other standard applications.
A solid understanding of the application of GIS tools

Preferable
The ability to be resourceful, remain flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances

 
Desired 
The ability to operate in a hostile and unfamiliar environment
Experience & qualifications
Essential 
Formal training in risk analysis from an advanced military or police force risk analysis course
Experienced risk and threat analyst with a background in working at a theatre or strategic level
Experienced risk and threat analyst with a background of service in the Middle East in the risk analysis world
Proven track record in military risk analysis organisation or equivalent
The proven ability to work in demanding environments, to be reliable, professional and enthusiastic in all aspects  Clearance to SC level or equivalent, either active or pending activation within a short period of deployment .

Preferable 
Military experience is preferred
Knowledge of the region and its political and economic dynamics

Desired 
Experience of handling classified information with a firm understanding and knowledge of information assurances and OPSEC
Experience working in a classified environment
GIS experience .
