Job Description
ACADEMI is currently answering a Request for Proposal for a Sniper Tactical Instructor. Applicants meeting the qualifications for this position may be considered, vetted, and asked for a signed release to use their resumes to present to the customer.
Responsible for the delivery of Sniper training POI during a 12 month period of performance
Professionally delivery quality training POI to a variation of US Marine students
Participate in After Action Reviews (AARs) following each training iteration
Maintain current instructor certification
Assist in the identification and fix any shortcomings in the delivery of the US Marine training
Work closely with U.S. Military Base Range Control to facilitate training
Assist in coordinating, scheduling, using any military base or facility (RSO Qualifications)
Provides curriculum review and teach backs (Upon Arrival, Instructors will be certified for each individual period of instruction by the lead instructor upon arrival
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ time in service as US Special Operations Force unit
Former Marine Force Reconnaissance /SFARTC trained Army Special Forces SNCO with experience as a tactical operator
USMC Basic Instructor Course (BIC) or equivalent
Formal Schools Instructors Course or equivalent
Former participant in SOTG Urban R&S and SOTG Sniper courses or branch equivalent
One successful combat deployment with a SOF unit
Must have Sniper qualifications:
o Former Marine Corps 0317, 8541, or other branch equivalent (Level 1 SOTIC Sniper)
o Prior Basic Sniper Course instructor with primary billet of marksmanship instructor
o Background knowledge in ATRAG Ballistic Computers or commercial equivalent
o Experience with aerial shooting
Must have Fire arms qualifications:
o Qualify with weapon systems taught IAW prescribed POI standards
o Re-qualify / proficiency training on the courses of fire and with the type of weapons they instruct
Valid U.S. issued passport and driver’s license
Communicate in English orally and written
Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.
Knowledgeable and proficient in the preparation of Naval Correspondence IAW the Naval Correspondence Manual
Preferred qualifications:
Former participant of SOTG Urban R&S and CQB Course or branch equivalent (SFARTEC)
Extensive personal and instructional experience in helicopter rope suspension techniques HRST) and able to recertify upon arrival Marine Corps Infantry tactics Organization of Infantry Battalions and Rifle Companies Characteristics and employment of Marine Corps aviation assets, Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAVs), Light Armored Vehicles (LAVs), High Mobility Multi-Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), and weapons and fire support assets to include standard issue small arms, machine guns, rockets and mortars.
