Job Summary
The Director of Operations and Security is responsible for the
effective management, planning, coordination, and execution of
operations, intelligence, training, and security across assigned
program. Maintain required information and data in accordance with the
Performance Work Statement (PWS) and any modifications on the
performance of police mentoring and advising teams throughout theater.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for effective operation of multiple Operations Centers (OCs), to ensure they have adequate procedures, understand their procedures, communicate information to all who need to know, and report appropriate activities in a timely manner.
- Ensure the Executive Movement Detail is properly trained and use effective procedures in the execution of their duties.
- Direct Site Security operations at all sites that require DI Site Security to ensure operations are adequately staffed, trained, and supervised. Also ensure Site Security has effective operating procedures and training to provide excellent performance of routine and emergency duties.
- Ensure all training is synchronized with CONUS pre-deployment training; employees meet their mandatory DI training requirement;, and that all new employees are properly trained prior to deploying to their assigned work locations.
- Manage the development of Security Standard Operating Procedures, all Security related policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure mission required performance.
- Develop and manage the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program.
- Plan and execute training, deployment, support, reporting, and battle tracking.
- Conduct coordination with Training Programs Support Office (TPSO) concerning mission requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge and experience in civilian law enforcement and/or US Military organizational structures.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- Must have initiative to respond to unexpected situations and the ability to work in a professional manner with contingent personnel and military organizations.
- Possess strong managerial and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Exercises sound administrative judgment in order to maintain effective organization workflow.
- Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks in a high stress environment.
- Knowledge of various computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Four (4) year Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, however, two (2) years’s of experience in civilian/military law enforcement and/or intelligence/security in contingency operations may be substituted for each year of college.
- Twelve (12) years’ experience in the field of law enforcement or military services.
- Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in the field of law enforcement or as a US Military Officer.
- Must have at least two (2) years’ experience planning and executing complex military and/or Law Enforcement operations – five (5) plus years highly preferred.
- Prefer previous military or law enforcement commander.
- Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
- Must pass pre-deployment medical screening as required by the contract.
- Travel requirements will vary with assignment.
