Internal:
- Works directly with the Costa Rica Executive team and the LatAm regional leadership team members to develop organizational local strategies in support of the organization’s mission. As the leader of the local senior management team, the incumbent guides the development of strategic and operational plans for management.
- Works directly with community leaders, major stakeholders (including customers & prospects) and other leading contributors in the private sector and government.
- To monitor and influence through external networks, market, customer, competitor, regulatory, legislative and industry activity to gain competitive advantage by ensuring the business develops and executes strategies to exploit potential opportunities in relevant market sectors.
- Seeks out opportunities to improve organizational operations and shift organizational philosophy to integrate departments and programs to function as a strong, cohesive operation.
- Develops policies and strategies for financial management including all revenues, expenses, endowment funds, and investments. Ensures rigorous accountability and long term stability through the conservative fiscal management of resources and endowments.
- Guides and integrates the department heads’ efforts to realign all business processes and reinforce organizational structure to ensure the effectiveness of major programs and initiatives by focusing energies and operations to achieve agreed upon objectives.
- Encourages and facilitates the application of technology to enable the re-engineering of programs and processes to make optimal use of resources
- To monitor business unit performance regularly and measure key performance indicators, driving performance improvement initiatives and strategies to achieve expected results. To bring early to the attention of Regional Management any issues of concern that could have an unexpected and/or material impact on the local business and/or the Region in terms of profitability or reputation.
- To lead a customer focused culture and personally maintain relationships at the appropriate level with major customers and potential customers in support of company-wide growth strategies and plans.
- To build organisational capabilities required to deliver sustainable growth, service delivery and profit targets consistent with the Group’s overall strategy, ensuring that the company has the appropriate management structure, resource, processes, people and capability to deliver the agreed plans and change initiatives, now and in the future.
- To protect and enhance the G4S brand and the Group’s reputation by ensuring that the company operates in accordance the Group’s brand values, Business Ethics Policy and CSR programme and to act in accordance with the Group’s crisis communications policy.
- To ensure that the business risks that the Company takes are properly assessed/mitigated and that appropriate contractual and insurance arrangements are in place.
- To collaborate with other G4S businesses to maximise business opportunities for G4S and to identify and share best practice with the aim of improving the overall performance of the Group.
- To ensure the business manages employees appropriately in accordance with G4S standards and that employees are treated in line with our values and their health and safety at work is a priority.
The Ideal Candidate:
Formal Education:
- University graduation in an applicable field
- MBA Post – Degree
- Individual must possess a minimum of ten years of directly related experience including five to eight years in a senior managerial capacity with a similar institution.

Must have direct management responsibility for large-scale
initiatives involving significant P&L management and implications, a
large staff, and many diverse stakeholder groups.
- Seasoned business leader with successful track record of developing and achieving good results over a sustained period for a business of significant size and complexity
- Proven leadership and team building skills. Ability to build consensus, rally support around common goals and to motivate groups and individuals. Proven negotiation and mediation skills. Ability to overcome obstacles to cooperation and to foster harmonious relations.
- Comfortable operating in a lean structure and environment with a need to focus on short term as well as long term results
- Strong project management skills. Easily balances competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Ability to rapidly process and comprehend large amounts of detailed information consider the implications and consequences of new facts and make decisions.
- Possibly a previous leader of a large division in a B2B environment – logistics, services or outsourcing sectors or similar
