Tier 2 PSD Deputy Team Leader / Medic

Job Description
Duty Statement: The Tier 2 PSD Deputy Team Leader/Medic  is to Command and control the PSD
and ensure all team members are adequately briefed, skilled, equipped and supervised to conduct their duties safely in compliance with the rules and regulations, policies, SOP. The individual will also be responsible in providing immediate emergency medical treatment and care (Trauma or Primary Care) to clients and members of the PSD.Responsibilities: 
PSD role:
  • Fully integrated team member and contribute to safe and secure conduct of operations and training
  • Commander / driver of designated team vehicles
  • Personal Protection Officer (PPO), as directed
  • CP (close protection) during team mounted and dismounted operations, both static and mobile
  • Contribute to mission planning and preparation, as well as post-mission reorganisation as directed
  • Support post-mission reporting by contributing relevant information in team debriefings and responding to managements RFIs
  • Support TL in all aspects of daily team administration, training and other duties
  • Maintain all personal URG issued weaponry, equipment and clothing to highest standards
  • Contribute to maintenance of team-issued weaponry, equipment and vehicles according to respective TL’s discretion
  • Maintain high level of physical fitness, commensurate with PSD duties. Present a professional and presentable appearance at all times when in uniform
Medic role:
  • Provide emergent and non-emergent medical support such as treatment of minor acute illnesses in field conditions to include but not limited to fluid resuscitation, haemorrhage control with haemostatic agents, airway support, and life support for patients with prolonged casualty evacuation times
  • If required liaise and arrange evacuation to the next level of medical care
  • Provide a detailed handover of any patients/casualties to the next level of care
  • Ensure all medical equipment is maintained in an operational and in date
  • Track and maintain individual supply requirements
  • Liaise with specialist medical departments such as air support and evacuation teams
  • Operate Incident Response Team Ambulance as directed
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge of clinical guidelines and treatment advancements.
  • Demonstrate Continuous Professional Development of medical skills and treatment techniques
  • Keep up to date with all professional qualifications
  • Assist in training activities of fellow medics and team members
  • Attend courses that have relevance to assigned duties
  • Execute any other medical tasks as deemed appropriate by the Senior Unity Medic
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Five (5) years Military or Law Enforcement service
  • ALS or ACLS qualification
  • Tier two medical qualification (HSE Offshore Medic/EMT-Paramedic)
  • Accredited CP training
  • Clean criminal background check
  • English speaking
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in Iraq in a similar role
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic
  • A current network of contacts in Iraq
  • Holds a current drivers licence and International Driving Permit
