Responsibilities:
PAE is currently seeking a Senior Staff Trainer
to support the African Contingency Operations
Training and Assistance
(ACOTA) Program. Senior Staff Trainers will instruct and supervise staff
operations training for peacekeeping personnel at the company,
battalion and brigade level to prepare them for deployment to African
Union (AU), United Nations (UN) or Regional Peacekeeping Missions.
Senior Staff Trainers will train commanders and staff in Peace Support
Operations (PSO) operations and procedural skills. Training will focus
on operations center organization and operations, staff functions,
intelligence preparation for the area of operations and the military
decision making process. Senior Staff Trainers will develop POIs, lesson
plans, and training support packages for collective training
programs. Senior Staff Trainers will ensure all training scenarios are
based on the most current mission information. Training will involve
classroom instruction, PSO Command Post Exercises and Computer Assisted
Command Post Exercises.
Qualifications:
The Senior Staff Trainer requires a unique blend
of skills, experience, and knowledge to accomplish the goals and tasks
of the ACOTA Program. Successful candidates will possess:
- A minimum of 10 years military operations and training experience (or civilian equivalent) is required.
- Expert level knowledge in Combat Arms, Combat Service, or Combat Service Support U.S. Military Occupational Specialty, Branch, or Functional Area
- Staff experience at battalion, brigade, or Special Forces B Team level (or civilian equivalent) is required.
- A minimum of three to five years of increasingly responsible experience with standard military training concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Willingness and ability to live and work in remote and austere field environments is required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process to include background check and drug screen is required.
- Prior experience in working with AU and/or UN Peacekeeping Missions strongly preferred.
- Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to completion of college course work leading to an advanced degree, preferred.
- U.S. Military combat and/or PSO experience at 0-3, 0-4, 0-5, E-8, or E-9 (or civilian equivalent) level is preferred
- U.S. Military Education Level 3 or 4 (Command and General Staff College or equivalent) is preferred.
Experience operating in hardship conditions is preferred.
