Job description
The Security Services role serves as a member of the Executive Security Services team, which provides security services for the corporation.The role encompasses the security of individuals, corporate facilities, residences, events, ground and air transportation, and special projects. Candidates coordinate off-site activities and execution of plans for visiting dignitaries, senior leaders of the company, CEOs of other companies, major account customers, heads of state, political leaders, and others at small to medium corporate events to ensure a safe environment. The security of air and ground transportation fall within the domain of responsibilities; this includes but is not limited to corporate aircraft facilities and corporate aircraft, anywhere in the world. Additionally, Protective Services assists with the assessment of risks that may compromise the security of executives. Identified risks may result in the recommendation or implementation of countermeasures at the residences, vacation homes or offices of executives, as directed by Protective Services. Management and other groups/functions rely upon Protective Services for advice and counsel concerning close security of key individuals.
The work environment will be with high-profile individuals on a global basis; settings are often unfamiliar and at times in transit. Engagements are numerous and geographically dispersed. In order to function effectively, these key individuals must be unhindered by concerns of safety and/or logistics concerning their engagements. The role of trained security professionals is to ensure a safe environment for these individuals globally.
This role:
Works independently, implementing and maintaining Corporate Security directives
Guides other professionals within area of specialization
Works on problems that are broad in scope, and performs analysis of data to facilitate decision-making
Performs duties to meet corporate requirements for risk analysis, crisis management, physical security, and maintenance of the organization’s programs in general
Prepares and regularly updates process documents, crafts professional reports for management, and develops and delivers security-related training and education to the greater IBM population.
Communicates frequently and effectively with the team.Demonstrated familiarity with location details and intricacies for New York City and surrounding areas is preferred.
Required
High School Diploma/GED
At least 7 years experience in security/law enforcment background
At least 7 years experience in interview/investigative skills
At least 7 years experience in leadership skills
Readiness to travel 50% travel annually
English: Fluent
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Other Sciences
At least 10 years experience in security/law enforcment background
At least 10 years experience in interview/investigative skills
At least 10 years experience in leadership skills
Basic knowledge in location details for New York City and surrounding areas .
