Duties and Responsibilities:
Within delegated authority, the Senior Security Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
Education: Secondary school education supplemented by university courses/diploma in political science or graduated military/police officers.
Experience: At least six years of progressively responsible work as a military/police officer or minimum of six years working experience in administration/coordination/ cooperation at high level in large companies/organizations.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
Knowledge: Professional background directly related with security issues (e.g. in military, police, etc.). Good political and social knowledge of the country. Excellent knowledge of standard computer applications, electronic security databases, automated alarm and video surveillance systems or other security equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Within delegated authority, the Senior Security Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Gather through open media and other WFP contacts / sources the security situation in Aleppo governorate and provide comprehensive update / Brief and advise WFP Field security officer on trends/situation that could affect WFP operation and staff on a short/medium term basis.
- Ensure full and clear information received and disseminated/shared with staff as necessary after in concurrence with the Aleppo field Security Officer.
- Carry out in-depth investigation in case of any security incidents and report accordingly.
- Carry out security assessments up on the request of the Aleppo Field Security Officer where WFP operation exists.
- Liaise and coordinate with the local government security organizations/authorities on all matters related to the security of WFP staff members and their eligible dependents and property under the supervision of the Aleppo FSO, and regularly update the FSO on security developments.
- Keep record of all external and internal missions and SO staff movements in and outside the country.
- During field missions keep track of Sub-Office vehicle movements and maintain continuous checks with the driver/ staff and report departure time and arrival time as well as accompanying the mission convoy if required.
- Set up a daily security brief encompassing all security related matters took place in the last 24 hours and their impact on the continuity of WFP operations.
- Upon the request of FSO, Maintain security plan updated including update of staff list and detailed contacts for use in case of any security situation.
- Ensure that all Sub-Office staff is aware and compliant with security advisories and instructions as received from FSO, FSCO and ASCO.
- Ensure travel procedures are followed i.e. security clearance granted, MSCR, CONOPS and also that vehicles are in perfect state and equipped, travel hours are respected(MOSS compliant).
- Provide security brief to newly appointed/or arrived WFP staff member/s.
- Ensure appropriate level of confidentiality is maintained with all security related matters.
- Perform any further task upon the request of FSO, FSCO and REC regional security officer.
