Transportation and Range Support Team Member (SME) - Afghanistan

Job Summary   The Transportation and Range Support Team (TRST) members will be responsible for the overall transportation of assigned CSTC-A personnel, range operations/range support, airport movement/procedures, overall maintenance of assigned vehicles, and assigned additional security related duties as deemed necessary by Program Manager or Operations Movement Manager. Members will also be responsible for movement briefs/ debriefs, personnel oversight and management, understanding all policies and procedures that apply to vehicle operations in Afghanistan.    


Principal Accountabilities
  • Oversees the TRST Team’s operations to ensure safety, to include mobile operations.
  • Ensures that all TRST team members are properly trained, equipped, briefed, and mentally and physically prepared for all missions.
  • Ensures that all TRST team members are trained to utilize and deploy weapons and tactics to ensure mission success.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of all required weapons training programs and ensures training materials are available for use.
  • Precludes behavior that would reflect poorly on the Principal, DI, the Department of Defense, or the Afghanistan Government.
  • Presents a clean and professional appearance.
  • Provides the PM or DPM with daily, weekly, and monthly reports for all TRST Operations.
  • Performs protective service detail assignments as they pertain to assigned programs.
  • Conducts advanced security reconnaissance of projected routes.
  • Conducts static security assignments when directed.
  • Other duties deemed necessary by management.
Knowledge & Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of DI’s security policies and procedures, required.
  • Ability to conduct small arms weapons ranges desired.
  • Familiar with all aspects of security operations as relates to this task order, desired.
  • Technical/tactical proficiency with the various small arms used in support of company operations, required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of individual and group force protection, required.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles of various weights in a tactical manner both on and off-road is required.
  • Must demonstrate creative problem solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team equally well.
  • Must be eligible for SECRET Level Security DOD Clearance (previously granted and never revoked or suspended).
Experience & Education
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree desired.
  • Individuals with combatant level assignments preferred.
  • Experience driving in a hostile environment preferably in Iraq or Afghanistan in a high threat environment, desired.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Must meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
  • Must possess a fitness level appropriate to performing work in a field environment and current medical and dental exam completed within the past 12 months.
  • Must maintain a current US Passport.
  • Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
  • Carrying appropriate assigned weapons is required.
  • Candidate must maintain weapons qualifications and meet all physical requirements.
Travel
  • Must be able to travel throughout Afghanistan
