Security Support Manager - Pakistan

Location: Karachi ,Pakistan

The Client is one of the world’s premiere management consulting firms with some 9,000 consultants across 99 locations in 55 countries. The Firm provides a full spectrum of consulting services primarily to large corporations but also to governments, international institutions, and non-*‐profit organizations. These organizations include 100 of the top 150 global companies, touching every major industry.

This is a new direct contract position which has potential to be brought in house. The role will be responsible for security initiatives protecting the Client’s people, reputation, facilities and assets in Pakistan. The successful candidate will be a professional with experience of operating in a risk management or security context with international firms in Pakistan.

The support manager will be part of our Middle East office and extensively interface and collaborate with the Firm Security team members in Singapore, Paris, Dubai, Prague and New York as well as with other support groups within the Firm.

Responsibilities include maintaining the safety of employees and physical assets,

planning for and reacting to incidents and ensuring the safety of logistics.

The Client is a partnership, and consequently the role requires the ability to forge consensus and encourage, rather than mandate compliance with security practices. The individual will need to demonstrate a proven record of independent action but will cooperate with a small global security team.

This position reports directly to leadership in our Middle East office with a dotted line to the Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa Security Manager. The role will also support the Middle East offices and has the potential to grow into a permanent sub-*‐regional role.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious individual with excellent written and verbal skills and security knowledge. He or she should have experience in Pakistan and ideally have experience in operating in other Middle Eastern locations. The role requires an understanding of international, cross cultural business practices.

Major Responsibilities:

o Managing the travel safety awareness program in Pakistan.

o Preparing for and managing incidents and issues.

o Developing procedures and guidelines on safety & security issues.

o Conducting basic security risk assessments on hotels and accommodation.

o Managing vendor relationships and their service delivery.

o Maintaining the office’s physical security standards and access control measures.

o Identifying and anticipating developing risks.

o Supporting our confidentiality programs

Qualifications:

o Candidates should have a successful career in risk or security management with 5+years’ experience in a related risk field.

o Experience in a multi-*‐national organization, aid agency, military or law enforcement would be advantageous.

o Academic credentials should include a degree or additional professional training. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:

o Ability to function as both leader and individual contributor, playing an operational role carrying out security initiatives.

o Very strong written communication skills.

o Ability to persuade and influence internal stakeholders.

o Good decision-*‐making and project management skills.

o Track record in developing and executing innovative security programs.

o Ability to work under pressure in sensitive situations.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.

o Experience in managing internal security investigations is preferred.

o Up to 5% travel is required.

o A strong understanding of IT, web based solutions, database solutions would be very advantageous.

o Fluency in English and Urdu is required; Arabic would be highly advantageous.
