Position Overview
The O’Gara Group Training and Services Division is currently seeking qualified instructor candidates for the Global Anti-Terrorism Assistance (GATA) program. Work will be performed at out vetted training facilities in Montross, VA and Alton, VA, with the potential for assignments in OCONUS locations and austere environments. Preferred candidates have direct experience with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Global Antiterrorism Assistance (GATA) Training Program and possess existing ATA instructor qualifications. Please note that these are not entry-level positions – the applicant must be able to validate previous instructor experience in the form of certifications, official documentation, and verifiable employment experience.
Prior to working on this contract, candidates must be granted a US government-issued moderate risk public trust (MRPT) and be vetted by the ATA program office. Public trust certifications require an investigation similar to that of a security clearance, and will include a background investigation. Candidates must be willing to travel frequently, both domestically and abroad. Candidates must also agree to sign instructor performance, code of conduct and professionalism agreements upon selection.
Compensation
Two packages are being presented. There are full time (FT) employee and part time on-call (PTOC) employee positions available. A full benefits package is offered to FT employees, while PTOC employees are eligible only for the Company 401K program. Pay is competitive and commensurate with the positions applied for and selected for. These will be discussed on an individual basis.
Description
The candidates selected for this position will instruct a three-week course after being vetted and approved. This course is designed for 24 maritime boarding officers and small boat coxswains assigned to maritime law enforcement missions. Using lecture, personal defensive tactics coursework, and extensive boat and water practical exercises, participants develop a better understanding of the basic principles of protecting high-value assets from waterborne threats emanating from a maritime port complex. In addition, students develop the individual and team skills necessary to mitigate threats from suicide bombers employing fast-moving watercraft in terrorist operations. All participants must have a basic working knowledge of small boat operations, navigation, seamanship, and competency in the use of crew-served weapons from a moving platform.
