Responsibilites:
Logistics
The logistics and security coordinator pilots logistics activities of the mission to ensure the smooth running of
SI programs in the country.
He ensures the implementation of SI procedures and logistics tools on the mission and ensures their compliance and their proper use.
He helps define the mission strategy, drafting and designing projects necessary means.
He is the referent on the mission and the link between headquarters and the mission for any issue related to logistics.
Security
The logistics and security coordinator develops an overall safety and security strategy in Turkey and North Syria.
He ensures and strengthens the SI security risk management.

OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
Security
  • To follow up the safety and security strategy in Turkey and North Syria, by ensuring and strengthening the SI security risk management
  • To finalize the revision of the mission security pack
Specificities of the position (Challenges)
  • Since there is no logistician (but a logistics assistant) in Syria, the Logistics & Security Coordinator is responsible of all logistics processes in both Turkey and Syria
  • To ensure SI Procedures are in place and understood by everyone

PROFILE
Experience
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in logistics management,
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with INGO specialized in Humanitarian assistance and 1 year of experience with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL as Logistics Coordinator,
  • Previous experience with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL would be highly appreciated,
  • Considerable and strong security planning and implementation work experience gained in the context of field relief operations in insecure areas,
  • Security assessment/review experience and analytical and planning skills
  • Substantial experience in developing of security management
  • Previous experience in remote management,
  • Proven experience in conflict contexts and insecure environments, with consequent experience in supporting emergency response
  • Knowledge and understanding basis of Middle East geopolitical issues.

CONDITIONS
Salaried post: According to experience from 2000 euros gross per month, plus 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, and a monthly Per Diem of 700 USD.
Solidarités International will cover accommodation and travel expenses from the expatriate’s home country to the site of the assignment.
Social and medical cover: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
Vacation: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of one break every three months. For a one-year assignment, the expatriate will have a 7-day break during the 3rd and the 9th month (with 500 euros allocated by Solidarités). He or she will also be entitled to go back to his or her home country for a 14-day period after six months spent on the mission (Solidarités will cover travel costs).
During the assignment, the expatriate is entitled to R&R every three months: one week at three and nine months (with a 500 euro allowance) and two weeks at six months (with a plane ticket back home covered by Solidarités).
Desired start date: 1 August 2014
