Role Summary/Purpose :
The RSD’s serve as the business leader responsible for the identification, development and implementation of The General Electric Company’s global security and crisis management strategies and programs within his area of responsibility.
Essential Responsibilities
• Direct all aspects of the security for a GE Regional CEO. Provides coordination of security operations for all security operations under a GE Regional CEO.
• Leads the Regional CEO’s Security Council and serves, as a key advisor to the Regional CEO’s Crisis Leaders Council, each comprised of the business security and crisis leaders within the Regional CEO’s area of responsibility, in meeting company –wide security and crisis management objectives.
• Directs development of effective strategies to mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations and safeguard the company, its people and operations. Implements GE standards and expectations for site security, operations and activities to ensure the protection of executives, managers, employees, customers, stakeholders, visitors, etc, physical and information assets. Assures quality, consistency, and efficiency of security processes for prevention, crisis response, and business continuity within the Regional CEO’s Area of responsibility.
• Coordinates with Business and Corporate Security Leaders to identify and maintain security processes, practices and policies that reduce risks, respond to incidents and limit exposure and liability in all areas of information, financial, physical, personal and reputational risk.
• Designs and implements emergency response plans and associated training. Assures protection of business critical, proprietary, information and systems. Assure adequate disaster recovery/business continuity plans exist for critical operations.
• Manages the GE Travel Security program for employees traveling to and living in the Regional CEO’s Area of responsibility
• Assures compliance with all government regulatory requirements relative to Security. Audit sites and organizations to ensure GE fully complies with GE Security and Crisis Management Policy
• Develops and sustains relationships with high level national and international law enforcement and security organizations and private sector counterparts worldwide.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Master’s Degree preferred; however Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent acceptable. Concentration in management, criminal justice, law enforcement technology or similar field or equivalent experience
