Munitions Inspector Consultant

Job Summary   The Munitions Inspector Consultant will review and provide an analysis of all munition storage, inventory and transportation policies, procedures and systems currently in place by the customer.  Carries out all duties in accordance with DynCorp ISO 9000 Quality and Safety Standards.   Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Consistently observes and enforces all host nation explosives safety, and security standards during all explosives and non-explosives operations in assigned sites and temporary duty locations.
  • Conduct all munitions work according to established quality processes, identifying potential problems and recommending problem-solving solutions.
  • Inspect munitions and containers in accordance with Program and Host Country guidelines, provisions and applicable technical directives.
  • Accurately documents all serviceability and accountability actions in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with operations personnel to resolve any serviceability and accountability issues noted during the inspection processes.
  • Observe warehouse inventory operations for proper process controls and acceptability.
  • Observe and evaluate current assigned Combat Ammunition System as is applicable to Site’s processes.
  • Observe and evaluate munitions storage actions according to the stringent explosives standards.
  • Observe and evaluate operator maintenance on light vehicles and handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual hoists.
  • Observe and evaluate electronic test equipment, metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors and power tools.
  • Inspect, and perform minor maintenance on facilities and installed equipment. Cleans vehicles, equipment and facilities.
  • Prepare and deliver general and explosives safety briefings for all explosives operations.
  • Perform ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties using both automated and manual procedures
  • Inspect weapon systems to determine need for repair or destruction
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • In depth knowledge of Combat Ammunition System (CAS)Knowledgeable of the Military Supply and Tech Order systems.
  • Knowledgeable of the Department of Defense Supply and Tech Order systems.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to review, analyze and then write concise process improvements for future implementation.
  • Possess a valid US and International driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Interest in planning and organizing
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Former 0-4 to 0-5 DoD experience preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience working with and supervising Ammunition operations for the Department of Defense.
  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience on US Military Munitions; combined experience on Military inspection procedures, CAS, storage, maintenance of munitions and MMHE.
  • Must have working knowledge of Process improvement initiatives
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Normal color perception and depth of vision.
  • Working environment will be both office and outdoor settings which individual can be exposed to extreme weather conditions for extended period of time
  • Typically works a 40 hours per week work schedule.
Travel
  • Travel typically not required within area of assignment.
