Drum Cussac is currently seeking to recruit a Maritime Operations Manager to join our team in Poole, Dorset. The primary role of the Maritime Operations Manager will be to manage all phases and aspects of Drum Cussac’s maritime short-term operational and training. Applications close May 23rd 2014.
The primary role of the Maritime Operations Manager will be to manage all phases and aspects of Drum Cussac’s maritime short-term operational and training tasks, in order to ensure the effective
delivery of such services in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure that all tasks are conducted as efficiently and as cost-effectively as possible, in order to maximise the revenues generated.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Full administration and management of client portfolios once contracts are negotiated, maintaining intimate knowledge of clients' requirements
Management of transit/project from client order through to completion
Ensuring compliance with all national and international administrative requirements and adherence to timelines with all industry codes, client KPI's
Co-ordination and direction of all agencies
Briefing, direction and supervision of consultants
Maintenance of associated documentation, including but not limited to Risk Assessments and production of post-operational reports
Co-ordinating arrangements for maritime operations ensuring accurate paperwork is completed and submitted to agents, base managers and VPTs
Shared weekend working with other Operations Managers to provide effective 24/7 operational and logistical cover to all client vessels, Vessel Protection Teams and agents
Liaison with Manning and Logistics departments to procure transit/projects manpower and equipment
Presentations at briefings to internal stakeholders and attendance at consultant training days and client meetings
Production of weekly reports on Business Unit activities
Skills and Attributes:
Highly efficient administrative skills must be demonstrated in all aspects of the role
Must be highly-organised, have a flexible approach and outstanding attention to detail
Excellent confident interpersonal communication skills
Strong presentational skills (oral and written)
Proven and effective liaison skills
Must be able to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently
Should possess demonstrable problem-solving skills
Strong IT skills in all MS Office applications
Fundamental budget management awareness with some practical experience.
Strong team player, willing to work with and in support of peers 24/7
Efficient time-management ability
Knowledge of the Maritime Security Environment and ISPS would be an advantage, but is not essential
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Developed knowledge of shipping and offshore operations, including Oil and Gas but not essential
Proven experience in solution design and operational planning
Experience of managing manpower and logistical operations
Developed management experience, within military or relevant commercial organisation
Fully versant in the terminology and principles of Risk Management
This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary; to include 23 days of Annual Leave and all public holidays recognised in England.
