Job Description
Security Management
1. To ensure the Country has security management procedures in-place which comply with the Manual of Personal and Business Protection and in particular deal with the following key elements :
i. Staff awareness on security and emergency procedures.
ii. Effective security for premises and property.
iii. Operating procedures for the protection of cash and valuables
iv. Operating procedures for the management of security incidents and emergencies
v. Procedures for the protection of information not held on IT systems.

2. To ensure workplace security arrangements are adequate and good physical security access systems (eg staff access cards, CCTV) of the Bank premises is maintained.

3. To monitor and report the Security Risk Report in consultation with Group Security to meet the challenges and possible threats to the Bank in a rapidly changing environment

4. Ensure that residual risk on security within Bank’s buildings, branches and banking outlets throughout the country remain within acceptable risk levels by identifying material risks, maintaining an effective control environment and understanding and accepting or rejecting levels of residual risk in line with Operational risk procedures by;
• The source of reference within the unit in facilitating and promoting the understanding of OR and compliance requirements
• Lead and support implementation of the OR initiatives for the unit
• Proactively communicate with Function Head on operational issues, escalate significant events to OR Manager, RCO, BORC and CORC as appropriate
• Coordinate and consolidate operational risks and loss reporting to unit OR Manager, RCO, BORC and CORC. Ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management, Ensure effectiveness of controls for compliance monitoring and risk management
• Undertake and or coordinate periodic business monitoring (self assessment) activities within the unit and escalate findings and or breaches to OR Manager, RCO, BORC and CORC as appropriate when they occur

Key Roles & Responsibilities
a) To ensure that the Security procedures for all business and function units in place in accordance with the procedures contained in the Manual of Personal and Business Protection.

b) To conduct a security risk review within a country to ensure security procedures for premises are in line with current threats.

c) To ensure that a security review schedule is in place within the country covering all premises to ensure reviews are undertaken systematically based on the size of the country.

d) To analyse security issues and to recommend, as appropriate, remedial works to maintain and enhance the overall security of the Bank.

e) To monitor SECOM’s services provided to branches and to liase between branches and SECOM on matter pertaining to branch premises security / alarm & CCTV system.

f) Coordinate and consolidate operational risk and loss reporting of the unit for the reporting to the BORG, BORM and Business Unit Head. Ensure data accuracy and completeness.
