Deputy Security Manager

Job Description Overall Purpose of Job:
The Security Manager reports directly to the Construction Director and is responsible for managing the security function through the oversight of all security functions and provides employee protection as required.

Primary Job Duties/Functions:
1. Develops all project security protocols and procedures.
2. Develops project corrective measures and procedures.

3. Coordinates investigations into all security incidents including violations of all project protocols and procedures dealing with security and personnel behavior.
4. Coordinates meeting of management team and presents all security and personnel incidents for resolution. Reviews results of investigations and provides recommendations for corrective actions.
5. Directly supervising and mentoring a subcontracted security guard force as they conduct access control, loss prevention and other duties at the project site access points and on the project lease.
6. Provides oversight, protection and response for violations of company ethics policy, to include dishonesty, fraud and conflict of interest, and other issues related to workplace violence, antisocial behavior (making threats, engaging in sexual harassment, etc).
7. Responsible for responding to, and resolving security related incidents.
8. Directly conducting/supporting special activities such as module movements, drug dog operations, and VIP visits.
9. Conducting detailed investigations into incidents.
10. Supporting project safety initiatives, emergencies, and visits.
11. Preparing a variety of daily and weekly written reports.
12. Overseeing the collection of project security statistics and trends.
13. Assists in preparation and implementation of project emergency protocols including evacuations.
14. Coordinates canine substance discovery visits.
15. Security includes both onshore and marine security.
16. Writing and implementing new security / safety policies and procedures.
17. Executes internal security controls through performance of compliance assessment reviews and self inspections. Identifies deficiencies, develops and implements corrective action.
18. External stakeholder interface (multilateral alignment and communication).

Working Conditions:
1. Project site/field working conditions.
2. On-site project workspace of various conditions which may include temporary office facilities and exposure to moving, mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and various levels of outside weather.
Basic Job Requirements 1. Diploma in Police Foundations/Corrections or related military is preferred.
2. Five (5) years experience in a security/police supervisory or related military role.
3. Ten (10) years of security and/or police or related military experience.
4. Specialty police/security training is required (i.e. drug dog handler, bomb disposal, ERT, OSCAR, surveillance, crime scene management, traffic accident investigator, major case management, investigative specialist, harassment advisor/investigator).
Preferred Qualifications 1. Demonstrates a high level of interpretive thinking and mature judgment.
2. Strong training/coaching/mentoring skills.
3. Self motivated with strong communication skills who works well as an individual and as part of a team.
4. Ability to establish a team environment and to be able to work well with others.
5. Good computer skills with advanced use of Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, and the Office Suite.
6. Fluent in English, with above average writing skills.
7. Very good oral and written communication skills.
8. Experienced with offshore / marine (MARSEC) security protocols and procedures.
