Job Description
Work with NTM-A/CSTC-A CJ4 to train and advise MoI personnel in developing ammunition strategy, policy, and procedures outlining ammunition supply procedures as part of the overall logistics system.
Principle Accountabilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Train and advise ANSF ammunition supply point personnel, on ammunition management, receipt, storage, warehousing, issue, and shipping.
Advise the Stock Control branch on maintaining accountable records
Advise assigned ANSF personnel on Key Control procedures, Storage Compatibility criteria and Net Explosive Weight limits, how to conduct ammunition inventories, vehicle operations, and all aspects of ammunition storage procedures.
Train and assist MoI personnel to establish initial accountability of all ammunition issued to ANP
from existing NTM-A/CSTC-A FMS case files and property issue records held by NTM-A/CSTC-A.
Train and assist in transferring ammunition directly from the National Stock Record Account to the gaining ANP organizational property book. This shall be done in part by establishing initial accountability of ammunition and then the status of these transfers shall be audited monthly in order maintain accountability.
Train and advise ANSF Ammunition Supply Point personnel, to include advising on ammunition management, forecasting, receipt, storage, warehousing, issue, and shipping.
Train and advise the MoI in validating (quarterly) information for accuracy, as part of the overall ammunition supply system.
Train and advise MoI/ANP on Arms Room and Armory operations and provide RLC/PSPs contract personnel the ability to train on Arms Room and Armory operations.
Work directly with Shipping and Receiving Branch on conducting operations to include vehicle inspections, proper document control, proper tie down, loading and unloading ammunition vehicles, correct storage, observe proper Key Control procedures, train personnel on Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and conducting operations in a safe and secure manner.
Work directly with Surveillance Branch on all aspects of ammunition inspections; to include maintaining surveillance records, conducting various types of ammunition inspections, facility inspections, site safety program, reports and monitoring suspensions and restrictions.
Assist MoI/ANP to develop and implement processes and procedures for ammunition supply points at the Regional Logistics Centers and Provincial Supply Points.
Assist in the development of ammunition requirements and a 5-year ammunition plan.
Training:
Include forecasting and planning techniques.
Include maintaining technical references.
Metrics: include “readiness” types of reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Superior writing, computing and communications skills required.
Must meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current DoD regulations.
Must possess a fitness level appropriate to performing work in a field environment and current medical exam completed within the past 12 months.
Must have been tested and present proof of a negative HIV test result performed within six months of deployment.
Dental and medical readiness up to date and maintain a current US Passport.
Must be eligible for Secret Level Security Clearance (Previously granted and never revoked or suspended).
Experience & Education
Extensive experience as a subject matter expert in associated functional area as described in the detailed annex of the PBSOW required
Former military experience either serving, or working with the military required.
Experience in program or project management;
Experience in professional development and adult education;
Experience in working with Middle Eastern or Asian cultures is desired.
Training and experience in office automation programs, such as MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc;
Bachelors or Education Equivalent required and TS/SCI eligible.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ministry of Interior (MoI) Kabul, Afghanistan
Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
Travel
Locations within Afghanistan .
