Job Description
Police / Law Enforcement Advisor serves as a top level technical or functional expert, advising ISAF forces at the Regional Command level. Police/LEA Advisors often working on multiple projects and programs.
1. Serves as a top level technical or functional expert supporting one or more clients and unlimited user groups.
2. Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies.
3. Works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
4. Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes.
5. May perform business development activities, including providing technical input to proposal efforts.
6. Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff.
7. May serve as a technical task or project leader.
8. May have supervisory responsibilities.
9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in area of expertise.
10. Participates in special projects as required.
1. Bachelors Degree in a related discipline.Police/LE Advisors shall have a BA or BS or better in a strategic analysis or SFA-related field (e.g. security studies, conflict studies, international relations, management, operations research, terrorism studiies.
Police Advisor shall have 15 years of law enforcement experience, including at least three years in senior supervisory positions (equivalent to military O4/GS13 or above) with United States Federal, State, Local Law Enforcement, or equivalent coalition partner nation expertise.
The Police Advisor shall have a minimum of one year of recent and direct experience in training and advising Afghan National level police agencies and a demonstrated understanding of US inter-agency and ISAF operations and procedures, particularly as they apply to law enforcement training of the Afghan National Security Forces.
The Police/Law enforcement (LE) Advisor shall have at least six months of recent experience, within the last 4 years, working with ISAF. Must be TS/SCI eligible.
The SFA/COIN Advisor shall be trained and equipped to operate in the field with RC Teams.
As clear, concise reporting is a critical mission requirement, all SFA Advisors shall demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Must be eligible for Top Secret Clearance/ SCI.
