Job Responsibilities
This position is for the Mining Investment and Development for Afghan Sustainability (MIDAS) project. Position is located in Afghanistan.• Oversee the security needs of all projects, offices, personal security at specific job sites and/or offices
• Serve as the liaison to any security subcontractors hired for jobs or offices
• Arrange for security transport of personnel to and from various locations
• Provide management daily security reports
• Manage the day-to-day running of the operation center to include: Convoy Operations, ROC Interface and Emergency Operations
• Forecasting personnel, equipment and weapons needs with sufficient time to allow for appropriate acquisition (if applicable)
• Review weapon qualifications for security personnel
• Establish, monitor, and revise departmental budget in accordance to Company policies and practices
• Create appropriate internal controls within the department to minimize risk and liability
• Manage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Basic Qualifications
• Proven ability to implement programs to address complex needs and problems
• Capable of communicating with persuasiveness and exercise effective negotiation techniques as needed
• Skilled in interfacing with executive management to obtain support and required resources
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
• Six years of progressively responsible experience providing security for construction activities/personnel with three years in a supervisory roleEducation
This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous military, police, or private security experience
