Arche noVa - initiative for people in need is a religiously independent non-profit- and non-governmental organisation (NGO) from Dresden/Germany working primarily in the field of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation
and development. Our primary focus is Water and Sanitation.
The organisation is based in Dresden, Germany, and is a member of Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), the alliance of German aid organizations, and the Parit�tischen Wohlfahrtsverband. arche noVa bears since 1996 the donation seal of the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI).
arche noVa is implementing projects for the numerous refugees from Syria since October 2012. For the implementation of arche noVa relief measures in the Turkish-Syrian border region as well as Northern Syria, we are looking for a
Logistician and Security Manager
Tasks:
The Logistician and Security Manager supports the International program manager in planning, implementing and monitoring the projects in the Turkish-Syrian border region and Northern Syria
He or she is accountable for the administration as well as office and finance management of the arche nova program.
The Logistician and Security Manager supports the International program manager in human resource management especially concerning logistics and security staff.
The Logistician and security manager is responsible for the establishment and update of a security plan. This will be carried out in close cooperation with the responsible desk officer and the head of the logistics department in Dresden.
The Logistician and security manager is responsible for the project cars and together with the Logistics department in the Head office Dresden the booking of flights.
The Logistician and security manager is responsible for the organisation and monitoring of the logistics (purchase, tender, vehicles, office, warehouse, inventory management) at the site of the projects, following the internal guidelines of arche nova.
The Logistician and security manager supports the Int. Program Manager at the preparation and acquisition of further projects in the project area. He or she assists in writing project proposals incl. Budget.
The Logistician and security manager supports the Int. Program Manager in keeping records of the status quo of the projects and their progress by the way of regular internal.reports..
Further reporting will be necessary within the framework of the PR and fundraising department of arche noVa in Germany.
The Logistician and security manager is responsible for the project's cooperation with suppliers, local institutions and organisations/ NGOs. He / she drafts the necessary cooperation agreements/ MoU and is, after approval from the program manager and the headquarters in Dresden, authorised to sign them
He/ she is responsible for overseeing the work of the local Finances Officer in Syria as well coordinating with the Turkey office and the HQ in Dresden for all budget related issues.
Requirements:
A relevant College or University degree and or a relevant special vocational training
Excellent knowledge of written and oral English
Knowledge of Arabic and/ or Turkish would be an asset
Minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience in the fields of Logistics and Security management in Emergency and development project management
Experiences in conflict and crisis areas incl. sensitivity about very high security standards
Experience in personnel management
Experience in writing project proposals incl. budget and monitoring of those projects
Ability to work in a team
Management experience
Improvisation skills
Stress resistance
