Driver Training Instructor

Job Description :Works under the supervision and direction of the ESH Drivers Training Supervisor. The Safe Driver Training Instructor must be capable of and responsible for learning and conducting training on advanced safe driving techniques to teach drivers on Simulator Non-Tactical and Tactical type vehicles, and motorcycle simulators, as well as conduct class room instruction on various related subjects and Safe Drivers Training Programs Outlined in AR-385-10 and AR 600-55.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Conduct the Safe Drivers Training Programs.
a. Hands on driving instruction in Tactical vehicles.
b. Class room lecture instruction (RoadRageous, ATSTP IIIA, Regional Drivers Safety Training.
c. Perform Simulator training classes (Tactical, Non-Tactical, Emergency Vehicle and Motorcycle).
d. Prepare after action reports.
2. Performs responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and other applicable regulations.
3. Develops, maintains and updates lesson plans and training modules to most current industry standard
4. Develops trains, and implements safety and training procedures as required to maintain a safe working environment.
5. Peforms applicable certification/re-certification of personnel.
6. Enroll program participants, monitors program effectiveness, tracks attendance, maintain training records and prepare periodic reports.
7. Revises and updates training policies and procedures as required.
8. Develops statistical information (data analysis) to support leaderships decisions and proposals.
9. Performs other duties as required by supervisor / management.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Basic office Equipment to include projector and classroom training aids. MPRI L3 Driving Simulators (full size) and the SMART Trainer Motorcycle Simulator.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally conducted in an office environment. However, duties may occasionally involve working outside with a potential exposure to extreme temperatures. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Work may require heavy lifting up, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential hazard could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
Required Experience: Experience:Two (2) years experience in the safety training field. Copprehensive knowledge of Federal / Military safety laws, regulations and guidelines as it relates industry standards. Must be a seasoned instructor with good platform skills and able to communicate in English effectively to all levels of management and staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Education/Certifications:
Highschool Graduate or equivilant.
A degree in Safety/Education or related fields is desirable, or related experience of at least 2 years experience in the safety training / driver training field.
Must have a valid drivers license.

Skills:
Must be team oriented; possess excellent organizational, time management and writing skills to include analyses. Must be computer and software literate, experienced in Microsoft applications. Must have good platform skills and experienced in classroom instruction.
