Qualification
The Site Security Manager (SSM) and Facility Security Officer (FSO) have responsibility for client’s security operations and budget in Forest, MS. The position reports jointly to the Security Director and General Manager. The Forest site has approximately 650 employees and 350,000 square feet of building space.
The SSM/FSO is responsible for the management and implementation of the National Industry Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Joint Air Force Army Navy (JAFAN) manuals, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and other related security directives in support of Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
Responsibilites
The SSM/FSO supervises security staff, including the contract guard force and other security personnel. Responsible for managing badge & ID, personnel security, alarm systems, and proprietary information protection functions for the facility. He/she will provide leadership on special projects that cut across the business and the company, to include assisting the Security Director with security process standardization. This position is the main interface with the user community, including local law enforcement and other agencies.
Additional responsibilities involve compliance, major projects, analysis and administration related to business unit security operations, and provides support and leadership for deployment of standardized tools for tracking and executing the security responsibilities.
On occasion the SSM/FSO performs executive protection assignments and provides security support for off-site functions including the coordination of contract and local law enforcement details.
The SSM/FSO is also responsible for Asset Protection, and performs crisis planning and management, and the range of analyses needed to identify trends in security breaches and losses, mitigate risks, and determine security program effectiveness and impact. Plans, develops, publishes and maintains physical security policy guidelines and supports business-wide guidelines and standards for the company.
The SSM/FSO is also responsible for the Export/Import compliance at the site; working directly with the programs and EXIM OPS to ensure compliance with various Manufacturing License and Technical Assistance Agreements in support of international program efforts.
COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES
•BA degree in Business Management related field with 10+ years security-related experience
•10+ years security-related work experience as outlined above
•History of working with government agencies within the Defense and Intelligence communities
•Thorough knowledge of Physical Security, personnel security, program security, special access programs, COMSEC and document control
•Excellent communication and organization skills
•Leadership skills to motivate all employees at all levels to accept and comply with customer mandated security requirements
•Ability to explain the "why" of US Government security requirements in such a manner that employees understand and embrace the information protection requirements of diverse US Government customer organizations/agencies
•Thorough knowledge of the NISPOM, JAFAN manuals, ICDs and International security requirements.
•Familiar with lock & key and badging operations
•Active DoD Secret clearance
•Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a self-directed, multi-tasking, fast-paced work environment
