Location: Pearl GTL, Other, Qatar
The Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project includes the development of offshore natural gas resources in Qatar’s North Field. Upstream, natural gas is produced, transported and processed to produce 120,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of condensate, liquefied petroleum gas and ethane. Downstream, dry gas is used as feedstock to produce 140,000 barrels per day of clean, high quality GTL fuels and products.
Responsibilities:
The Security Advisor is responsible to the Country Security Manager for the following activities:
- Acting as a security focal point and subject matter expert in regard to security related issues and concerns
- Ensuring compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code Program, Export Compliance standards, SOX standards, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CT-PAT) and Shell Corporate Security Global Standards
- Meeting/maintaining defined job (critical) competencies and appropriate training requirements
- Performing as the Shell point of contact (POC) responsible for routine and emergency communications with RLIC Security, US Customs, Coast Guard, Navy, Ministry of Interior and State Security
- Building and maintaining a working network of security professionals within the private sector
- Implementation of security awareness programs commensurate with identified risks
- Preparation, rehearsal and implementation of security contingency plans (e.g. civil unrest / evacuation, bomb threat, kidnapping, extortion)
- Integration of security requirements and contractor management operational demands into an efficient process
- Supporting and/or overseeing investigations in regard to security and business incidents
- Handling and safeguarding of sensitive security information
- Supporting HSSE MS and compliance audits as required
Requirements:
Education requirements:
Undergraduate degree in a related field
Graduate degree desirable
Key qualifications:
• Graduation from a law enforcement or military training academy/school
• Previous security, police or military certification
• Auditor certification, with particular interest in supply chain securit
Experience requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years experience in senior-level industrial, law enforcement or military supervision
• Minimum of 10 years experience interacting with law enforcement agencies as an industry representative
• Practical experience working in both the on and offshore Qatar petrochemical environment
• Demonstrated experience in international supply chain security, in particular ISO 28000 or CT-PAT
• Practical experience working with different cultures
• Demonstrated and extensive experience in developing host-nation subordinates in an industrial security environment
• Strong and demonstrated working knowledge of security systems such as automated access control, CCTV and intrusion detection
• In-depth knowledge of the security vulnerability assessment and mitigation processes
