Job Description

World Vision (WV) is a global network of people committed to enhance the well-being of children everywhere by empowering families and communities to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice. The Regional Security Advisor (RSA) will provide both strategic and operational support for overall security and risk management within MEER (Middle East Eastern Europe Region). You will support the Regional Security Director and National Offices (NOs) through provision of strategic and operational security support, capacity building in security/risk management, support for on-going implementation of Core Security Requirements, and in general to serve as a technical security resource for National Office leadership and field staff.
With a proven track record in a fast paced, complex and ideally global organisation, you will have a desire, motivated by your Christian faith, to help others and model ethics in line with the Christian foundations and ethos of the organisation.
Responsibilites:
Act as a technical resource to assist National Offices to carry out Security Risk Assessments (SRA) and Country Risk Ratings (CRR) as required by overall country risk level.
Provide technical support to National Offices for on-going implementation of Core Security Requirements (CSR). This includes assessment, planning, implementation and on-going monitoring in line with Country Risk Rating.
Provide direction and inputs to Regional Office (RO) staff on security issues as needed, including travel briefings and country risk details (includes oversight and usage of Travel Tracker system)
Required skills include:
Undergraduate degree in Security or International Development Field with emphasis on organisational development or risk management.
At least 5 years of experience in a proven security, risk management or emergency service field, including experience in NGO or UN Security Management.
Sound knowledge of risk management, security & contingency planning, and crisis management in the humanitarian context.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Arabic, Pashtu, Urdu or Dahri will be advantage)
50-60 % international travel required, especially to developing countries with limited infrastructure and various health, safety, and security risks present. Person must be able to work in more moderate and high risk countries as well as able to engage in various senior management and project meetings in country, region and WV partnership.
