Job Description
The Domestic Security Manager will contribute to the work of the Section through the management of a small team providing physical and personnel security services to the Agency, along with the policy and
training support which underpins protective security for the Agency.
Reporting to the Director, Security Management Section, the position will develop and implement security policies and procedures, conduct security threat and risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans. The role involves developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The management of security related contracts is also a requirement.
The position will provide strategic and operational level advice on AusAID’s protective security arrangements within the domestic environment and make recommendations for improvements to the Agency’s security systems and processes. The successful candidate will possess broad protective security and risk management experience in order to provide sound comprehensive advice to clients and may be required to assume the role of Agency Security Advisor from time to time.Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Broad experience in protective and operational security matters is highly desirable. A Certificate IV in Government (Security) is preferred and/or a Diploma of Government (Security) would be highly desirable but not mandatory.
Eligibility/Other Requirements:
This is a security assessed role. The successful candidate will be required to either have, or be able to obtain, a security clearance at Negative Vetting 2 level.
The position will be required to work flexibly in support of operations and may include on-call duties.
Travel:
Short term domestic or international travel may be required.
