Security Team Leader , UAE

About the Role
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Security/Security Manager, within the limits of Security policies and procedures, is responsible for the safety and security of colleagues, guests, property, confidential information, and Jumeirah's company image.

Your main duties are as follows:

  • Assists in developing safe and secure measures and defined procedures to safeguard: a.) VIPs and other guests, b.) Madinat Jumeirah property and colleagues, c.) Conference and Banqueting functions, d.) Vehicles owned by hotel and private individuals   within the  Resort parking areas.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all related to Jumeirah and resort procedures related to security, fire prevention and evacuation in order to be equipped to make prompt decisions regarding to the safety and security of guests and colleagues.
  • Ensure continual "on the job training" and coaching is carried out with all Assistant Team Leaders  and Security Officers assigned to their team to maintain competence, correct errors and enhance performance of individuals and the team.
  • Monitors correct completion of Security documentation.
  • Supervises Security processes to ensure adherence to company Policies & Procedures.
  • Administrational:
  • Prepares daily incident reports, requisitions and other inter office memos as required.
  • Completes Investigation Reports of Incidents, as and when applicable.
  • Communicate new or amended procedures to relevant departments/ colleagues in a timely manner, ensuring they have been understood.
  • Monitor the control department forms and records according to the Jumeirah standards for Document Control.
  • Monitor Security logbooks and registers on a daily basis to ensure information is useful and required action has been taken.
  • Operational:
  • Possess the master keys, the Duty Team Leader's mobile telephone and radio transceiver for communication all times whilst on duty.
  • Performs regular tours of the allocated areas, reporting irregularities and/ or safety & security concerns to the relevant departments/ individuals.
  • Ensures that all allegations of crime and other incidents are recorded/investigated  according to defined Policies & Procedures and reported to the Security  Manager or Director of Security.
  • Supervises key controls system.
  • Escalates all concerns in relation to Fire, Life & Safety issues to the Security Manager or Director of Security.
  • Is familiar with all procedures related to fire prevention and evacuation and to ensure prompt decision making in line with the safety and security of guests and staff
  • Financial:
  • Reduces waste and expenditure wherever possible without adverse impact to the guest.
  • Assists the Security  Manager to ensure all Security colleagues are aware of the importance of minimizing waste and unnecessary expenditures
  • Other duties:
      Advises the Security  Manager/ Director of Security if Standard Operating Procedures require updating. Support the Security  Manager/ Director of Security in providing constant coaching, counselling and discipline to colleagues to ensure their capability to meet the needs of the customer and the organization. Under the guidance of the Security  Manager, conducts the Annual and Quarterly performance appraisals  to the security department Assistant Team Leaders and Security Officers. Performs all other related duties as required or requested by management.
    Experience
    Qualifications:
  • Essential - Higher secondary education
  • Desirable - College Graduate/ Degree in Criminology
  • Experience:
  • Essential - Minimum of 6 months security experience in a customer related service oriented role
  • Desirable - Military background/ Hospitality Course
  • Skills: Essential 
  • Proven knowledge in Fire & Safety
  • Computer skills
  • First Aid skills
  • Knows how to swim
  • Desirable
  • Dubai Police approved training
  • Speaks a third language
  • Familiar with CCTV Operations
  • Basic working knowledge of the law
