Reporting to the Security Manager, the Security Officers will be based either in Kabul (3 positions), with frequent travel to the regions, or in one of the 6 regions (6 positions), with a total of around 13 officers in order to cover rest and recovery periods. The positions will be for 12 to 24 months. The Security Officers will be responsible for:

Conducting risk assessments for the physical security of compounds, ad hoc locations, movement, and information systems; Providing technical security advice for the existing and new premises; Providing management and oversight of the security arrangements for all staff 24/7; Providing management and oversight of the sub-contractor 24/7; Dealing with the day to day operation matters of the office – travel, communications, tracking, SOPs and monitoring of the security situation in the individual provinces 24/7; Building professional relationships with other security personnel/agencies in the area of operation; Conducting periodic security and threat awareness briefings to all staff; Providing security briefings to all newly arriving staff and visiting missions; Providing a permanent and continual link between the regional field offices and the central office in Kabul; Developing security plans and operating procedures for a mission, including planning and coordinating visits by IDLO staff from the central office in Kabul and IDLO Headquarters; Supporting any visits by the donor; Working in collaboration with the contracted security provider to deliver a secure working environment for the mission; and Providing immediate guidance and action in case of emergency situations.
