Job Purpose
We seek a manager and subject matter expert to join the Security Consulting practice. The Security Consulting practice sits within Control Risks’ Crisis & Security Consulting Department and is responsible for working with clients on tasks which increase their organizational ability to prevent risks from
occurring. This includes the management and servicing of complex physical security (Security Design and Solutions) and organizational security consulting (Security Risk Consulting) engagements in North America.
Importantly, the Senior Manager is both a manager, responsible for managing and growing the Security Consulting business in North America, and a subject matter expert, who is a fee-earning consultant with advanced experience and specific enhanced skills.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Management
Manage and grow the Security Consulting (SC) practice for North
America, which covers the specialist areas of Security Risk
Consulting and Security Design & Solutions.
Maintain primary responsibility for SC financial performance.
Act as line manager for the SC team, based in Houston, TX and
provide positive support, coaching and training.
Case work
As the security risk subject matter expert, deliver desktop and onsite
security risk assessments for corporate clients, asset identification,
risk mitigation consulting and implementation planning, Enterprise
Risk Management consulting and security plans, policies and
procedures development and implementation at both the strategic
and tactical levels.
Ensure delivery of proposals, presentation, workshops and projects
in line with Control Risks’ standards, industry best practice and client
expectations.
Lead and service complex and multi-faceted assignments as full
project manager responsible for entire project cycle.
Business development
Grow existing client relationships and develop new opportunities.
Work closely with Marketing and Business Development (Global
Client Services team) and Crisis & Security Consulting colleagues
within and outside of the Americas region to develop new business.

Excellent time management skills.
Experienced with Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Power Point and Excel (Visio preferred).
Strong affinity with international political and security risk management.
Strong team player with the ability and willingness to respond to unexpected developments quickly and maintain strong ability to prioritize correctly.
Ability to work flexible hours due to on-call status.
