Regional Security Manager-Middle East & Africa

Job Description
As the Middle-East & Africa (MEA) Regional Security Manager, based out of Abu Dhabi, UAE, the successful candidate will provide a wide array of international security support and cross-functional collaboration on behalf of the Corporate Director of International Security Operations. While primarily assigned responsibility for the MEA region, security support may also require travel and support to / across other global regions.

Regional security support will consist of, but not be limited to, performing regional threat reviews, conducting vulnerability assessments, delivering business-minded and risk-managed security solutions, creating and delivering security / cultural awareness training programs, and developing, maintaining testing and response to/for crisis management, emergency evacuation, casualty assistance, business recovery and corporate contingency plans. Travel to locations assessed to be at elevated risk will be required at times. Candidate will additionally provide regional security support to visiting executive protection teams, business development interests, ongoing program operations, air / trade shows, expatriates, travelers, local / third country national employees, and other security services that further the International Security Operations strategy, vision, mission and purpose. Coordination and collaboration with other LM security managers and functional area experts will also be necessary.

Candidate will be required to communicate succinct analytical and persuasive reports, observations and recommendations to department leadership and enterprise business partners as well as establishing and growing effective internal / external relationships that promote the safety and security of personnel, information, operations and assets in the region.

Candidate will also serve as the corporation’s primary international security focal point in the region for an assortment of government and industry agencies, associations and working groups.

Desired Skills & ExperienceRequired skills
The applicant must possess specific Middle-East & Africa cultural and security knowledge and have recent and demonstrable operational experience in the region. Previous hands-on experience conducting threat and vulnerability assessments, preparing and delivering regional cultural / security training, building and testing crisis management / contingency plans, enabling and assisting regional business interests, travelers and expatriates and applying an assortment of security and force protection methodologies across the globe is also required.

Self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently and across an ambiguous and uncertain international risk landscape.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal relations, and multi-cultural awareness also required, as is the ability to articulate and present concise and risk-managed security recommendations in a timely manner. The ability to articulate and present cost effective, intelligent, decisive and risk-managed security recommendations is also necessary.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to US classified information. Applicant must also be eligible to access Export Controlled information as defined by US law and contracts.

Desired skills
Foreign Language (Arabic), Business Management, Contract Management, and Project Management skills also desired.

Thorough knowledge of international risk, travel management and asset protection systems is desired as is knowledge of US Government regulations dealing with international assignments and force protection responsibilities.

Established security related relationships within the Middle-East & Africa industry and or government security field.

Proficient knowledge and use of all Microsoft Office Professional Suite, database management tools, and other basic IT or web enabling skills is also desired.

Typical Minimums
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
