Primary Purpose:
Provide entrepreneurial leadership to create, develop, lead, and grow the full range of ACADEMI’s security services offerings – assessments, training, and protection — in business-to-business and business-to-government (U.S. or foreign) engagements in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Develop new and upgraded product offerings that match customers’ requirements throughout the full life cycle of security services – assessments, training, and protection – and that are continually refreshed by emerging technologies and approaches. Cultivate and nurture key and other customers to build loyalty and increased business. Foster relationships within the company to create business winning teams. Represent ACADEMI and its interests in the region.
Essential Functions:
Craft, develop, and execute strategies and tactics to create a robust customer base while growing the Company’s revenue and margins in MENA.
Achieve the Company’s performance targets against the objectives and the growth strategy.
Contribute to the development and execution of the Company’s strategic and growth plans.
Build and lead an organization to manage and exceed internal and external customer and stakeholder expectations, ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
Develop, execute, and monitor the annual operating budget within Company’s protocol.
Ensure strict adherence to FCPA, the Code of Conduct, and Company policies.
Procure and maintain Company real estate, supplies, and required business licenses.
Develop and maintain local and regional business relationships (customer, vendors, and government) critical to the success of ACADEMI’s operations in MENA.
Lead and manage area marketing, customer interaction, and business development in coordination with corporate staff and operations elements.
Identify emerging business trends in MENA and provide strategy recommendations and new service offerings to ACADEMI executive and senior management teams.
Recruit and manage staff, including performance monitoring, employee development, training efforts, and succession planning.
Develop, expand, improve, and refresh ACADEMI’s service offerings of Security Assessment, Security Training, and Protective Services. Confirm they are calibrated to current and future customers, and leverage industry technology differentiator.
Provide high-level counsel and program reports to ACADEMI leadership on strategic goals, program-related action items, and won new business.
Approve, as authorized, regional ACADEMI operational procedures, policies, and standards and ensure alignment and compliance with the Company’s Quality Management System, ISO 9001, and ANSI standards.
Review activity reports and financial statements to gauge progress and status in attaining objectives, and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
Present company reports at Executive Team and Board of Director meetings as scheduled.
Represent the organization on governmental and nongovernmental organizations and committees to elevate brand recognition and syndicate Company capabilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Security, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Ten years of Senior Management/Leadership experience required. Experience must include P&L, business development, and sales. Deep working knowledge of the MENA market sectors, and understanding of their sales cycle and key decision makers for security assessment, training, and protection services.
Experience in private security sales, business development, or marketing required. Experience in private security assessments, training or protective services highly desirable. Experience in international government or commercial security services highly desirable.
Demonstrated and proven track record of new business pursuit wins, margin growth, and customer relationship management.
Experience living and working abroad required. Fluency (speak, read, write) in Arabic highly preferred.
Experience developing and executing successful national and international sales strategies required, to include: developing customer account plans, fostering and maintaining key customer relationships, and developing and implementing strategies for expanding a company into new markets/customers.
This is a client-facing leadership position, so exceptional communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and interpersonal skills are required.
Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization (including management, peers, team members and customer-base). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion. Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Working Conditions:
Work is based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 to 5:00, however (frequent/some) extended or weekend hours may be required. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally. Travel to high threat/ high-risk areas may also be required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry file boxes and other awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs., including up and down stairs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
