Job Summary
-Salaried Full-Time position.-Initial 5-6 month embed period in CONUS with assigned unit follwed by a 12 month deployment to Afghanistan.
-Must be able to live and operate in an austere field environment while participating in combat operations.
Essential Job Duties
LEP (Level 1) advisors will embed in the US and then deploy overseas with US Marine Corps HQ elements for investigative, planning, and criminal information analysis support in order to provide a law enforcement (LE) perspective to military operations. LEPs must be flexible to unit requirements and have a strong LE background to act as a credible law enforcement subject matter expert. Primary duties are assisting the commander by providing enhanced expertise and methodology directed at understanding, identifying, targeting, penetrating, interdicting, and suppressing criminal networks. LEP must possess solid investigative and people skills. Level 1 LEP’s embed with their assigned unit for a period of appx 6 months in CONUS and then will deploy to Afghanistan for a period of appx 12 months.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Unblemished law enforcement background.- Minimum 20 years experience as a sworn civilian law enforcement officer with a federal agency or major state/municipal law enforcement department. Minimum 10 yrs experience in investigations, interviews, and source development. Must have significant specialized investigative experience with organized criminal groups, gangs, drug organizations and/or public corruption.
- US citizen and have a valid US Tourist Passport.
- Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
- Possess excellent verbal and written skills (fluent English). Internediate skill level using MS Office suite software.
- Possess a valid state Driver’s License (DL).
- Medically deployable per current USCENTCOM MOD TEN guidelines. No waivers will be processed.
- Able to pass Physical Fitness Test consisting of 150lb dummy drag (25m), Fireman’s Carry (150lb dummy for 25m), and 2 mile hike in 1 hour wearing helmet, body armor, 35lb pack and carrying rifle.
