Summary of Job Duties:
• Position will be directly responsible for creating an all-inclusive K9 training program.
• Position will be directly responsible for conducting K9 patrol, protection, and explosive & narcotic detection training.
• Position will be directly responsible for conducting both on, and off leash K9 training.
• Position requires travel to remote locations and travel to foreign countries.
Job Qualifications
• Must be qualified, trained, and certified by nationally recognized organizations
• Must have experience in conducting/instructing State or Federal K9 patrol, protection, explosive and narcotic detection training courses
• Must meet one of the following experience/education requirements for Security Officer positions:
o Seven (7) years K9 experience within past ten (10) years, or
o An Associate’s degree, or at least 60-semester hours college credit in any field of study, or
o Three (3) years military or National Guard experience, (active or reserve) or
o Successful completion of Police Officer Standard Training (POST) course, or
o Any reasonable combination of the above
• Experience in conducting seminars, lectures, and K9 judging is desirable
• Affiliations with NAPWDA, USPCA, DVG, NNDA and NARA is desirable, but not mandatory.
