Deputy Theater Director

Job Description
Provide the OEF-A Theater Director with the necessary assistance to coordinate staff directorates and staff actions. The purpose of this position is to support unity of effort, economy of scale, continuity of operations, resource conservation, and effective staff coordination in support of the deployed management staff’s wartime mission.• Synchronize planning and execution of support and operational activities.
• Coordinate priorities and objectives on Theater Director’s behalf.
• Understands Program issues and capable of accurate articulation of the Theater Director’s intent and guidance.
• Theater Director’s principal representative for day-to-day staff coordination on program matters.
• Initiates required staff-to-staff actions at principal Director level/s and oversees their timely resolution.
• Oversee and direct relevant program requirements, identify and communicate staff taskings and establishes a suspense time/date for completing the action.

• Maintain regular contact with the Theater Director and Program Manager, as required.
• Assist in resolution of competing priorities/tasks through direct interaction with Theater Director.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings with principal OEF-A staff to initiate, coordinate, or conclude staff actions.
• Distribute to theater and OEF-A staffs weekly report of Theater Director’s priorities.
• Keep the theater director informed of significant program decisions, issues, or unexpected and unforeseen requirements.
• Promote continuity of staff personnel and unity of managerial control of actions and personnel.
• Synchronize staff procedures and processes to eliminate redundancies and unnecessary tasking/reporting.
• Synchronize PMO staff and OCONUS staff procedures and processes to ensure maximum program integration.
• Serve as headquarters office assignment manager.
• Insure the internal and external appearance of building /offices represents MEP at highest professional standards.
• Conduct investigations as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the TD.
Minimum Qualifications
• Required BA/BS plus 5 years directly related experience or 12 years directly related experience.
• Prefer MA/MS/MBA in related discipline
• Ability to work cooperatively with Senior Military and USG officials.
• Current TS/SCI
• Prior deployed contract experience as a Senior level Manager
• Strong knowledge of USG contracts
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent decision making ability and sound judgment
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to live and work in a deployed environment
• Prior military experience as a brigade/regimental commander or division-level staff officer, strongly preferred. Alternatively, experience working as program support manager at an equivalent scale and complexityKey Desired Experience:
• Current linguist-related contractor experience preferred
• Capable, experienced mentor and trainer
• Experience with USG Compliance Issues
• Knowledge of Linguist Operations
• Understanding of International Language Roundtable Standards
• PMP
