Depot Security Officer ( 6 positions)

Job purpose and key deliverables This position will be based in East Rand Depot in Boksburg, COE in Rooderpoort, Watloo in Pretoria, Brackengate Depot in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and KZN Depot in Pinetown.

This role will oversee security programmes and processes to protect life, corporate assets and business continuity activities of marketing and depot operations within the assigned geographic area. It will provide the focal point for the provision of all Risk and Security routine daily interaction with marketing, including the prioritisation of asset protection deployments according to risk in conjunction with the service provider, drawing on the full spectrum of liaison and stakeholder engagement. The incumbent will review and revise on a continual basis security measures and practices to provide a responsive and proactive security service to the Company
and to react in accordance with Risk and Security processes ensuring the safety and security of employees, contractors and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out regular threat assessments with regards to marketing operations and Depot security and communicate the findings of these to the Business Security Manager, Marketing and Marketing Security Manager paying particular attention to changes in threat to company, personnel and assets, and make timely recommendations to counter these.

Ensure that all depot activities are completed within a secure environment with minimal opportunity for security breaches.
Initiate / co-ordinate and report on security incidents where there is a threat to Company employees and assets so as to ensure minimised loss or injury.

Document and enforce all access control measures and standard operating procedures with the relevant service providers ensuring a high professional service at all control points.

Assist and co-ordinate with the Recovery/Response of all emergencies.

Provide feedback to the Business Security Manager: Marketing / Business.

Liaise and develop relationships with various Law Enforcement & Emergency Services in the event of a Security incident/emergency (i.e. fire, medical, etc.) and to ensure timely reaction to incidents.

Assist with incidents involving company employees while on official duty when they occur and monitor and co-ordinate procedures when taking action.

Coordinate medical assistance to stabilise a patient (i.e. employee or visitor) in loco and arrange for immediate Professional Medical evacuation.

Participate in BAT EHS Program to treat possible exposure to safety related risks.

Actively be involved with the reporting on the status and maintenance of electronic tracking equipment, CCTV, Access Control equipment, fire detection/alarm systems, radio and telephone communications, etc. at the depot.

Conduct minor investigations in a professional and ethical manner should any of the Business Standards be transgressed or breached.

Collate all relevant evidence and present this in a professional and understandable format to all relevant parties at hearings / enquiries.

Execute all administrative duties in accordance with the Global Record Management Policy. (Investigation Dockets and Information.) at the depot.

Coordination, implementation, and presentation of all approved security related training programmes at the depot in liaison with the Business Security Manager: Marketing.

Principal routine point of contact with deployed Marketing Management to ensure that all Risk and Security tactical activities are aligned with the marketing plan and to ensure that protection of assets are managed, deployed and controlled according to risk priorities.

To ensure that BATSA depot risk priorities are clearly resourced and to communicate gaps to the Business Security Manager: Marketing, whilst identifying and implementing supporting mitigation strategies.
Essential requirements

SAPS, Law Enforcement or Armed Forces background.

Possession of a Matric certificate

National Diploma in Policing or Risk Management.

Must be registered with PSIRA as a Security Officer.
